Hey all, wow its early but hey gotta go to work.

But I have been thinking,

I have bought Jordan the little roll along peter pan and hook case from the disney store to use as hand luggage, and one with bratz on for Joely.

Are these ok for their hand luggage, I didnt even think about it when I bought them!

Also having no experiance with packing for children (to which I have niavely (sp) told their mum I want to prepare and buy for their hand lugage) what do you put in to keep a child happy for nine hours?

So far they have a pack of 50 felt tip pens each (as I didnt think you could take a pencil sharpener on board) a pad of plain paper, Disney coloring book and a note book. Of course they will both have portable dvd players with them but they dont last forever, and Joely has a DS which I am guessing wont last the time, and I dont like her being on it too long.

I am needing to pack enough to amuse them from the night before as we are staying at the Hilton, and I dont think they will sleep too well as they will be excited. Also for the airport too.

One last thing does anybody know where I can get the lovely walt disney world coloring book, it has pictures of characters and park rides to color, I have looked on the net and dont seem to be able to find any anywhere!

Thanx Anna

Anna,
It has to fit within the following dimensions:

Hand baggage restrictions
Passengers are allowed to carry ONE item of hand baggage, no larger than:

56 centimetres tall (approximately 22 inches)
45 centimetres wide (approximately 17.7 inches)
25 centimetres deep (approximately 10 inches)

Hi Anna,

What age are the kids? Could they play any travel games?

Will you be flying with an airline that has back seat TV for them to watch the kids movie or cartoon channel? We love this, even though we don't like them watching TV a lot it does pass the time on the flight

Depending on how old the children are - you could get some 'twistable' crayons - I think they are by crayola. They are great for younger ones as you just twist them when the tip is wearing down. I'm only suggesting them as I know that I would have to watch my 3yr old like a hawk with felt tips and even then there would be pen everywhere!!!

Are the felt tip pens washable? If not i'd buy new washable ones for obvious reasons.

I would also pack some items in your luggage. Give them out later in the flight when they are getting bored. Remember what you buy doesn't have to be expensive they can always be left on the plane. bring an empty carrier bag wih yoou for rubbish!

try sticker books

Play dough or plasticene

Cheap ( but safe )little plastic toys try £1 shops#

Print off colouring pictures from the internet loads of Disney ones on there but have never seen any of the rides.

the girls are 8 and 14 (but the 14 yr old has downs, so mentally around 3)

those twistables sound very good

my DD can play ages with Disney figures, sticker books.

WH smith airside actually sells pencil sharpeners.
