Kids camping in the backyard

They made it through the nigh and had a great time. This is not their 1st time camping, we have our own trailer and we are in cub scouts they they have experience with both types of camping.

This was their 1st time camping in the backyard without 1 one of us with them

I wish I could let my kids camp in the yard, I had so much fun doing that when I was growing up. Our yard borders the woods and we don't have any fence. There are packs of wild dogs (or coyotes) living in the woods and last summer a few of them were running through our yard howling. we usually hear them in the distance but this was the first time they were in our neighborhood :scared1: Sometimes I really wish we lived in the city.

Bear, coyote, wolves perhaps, bobcat, the officials say there's no mountain lion, but there has been reports, deer (yes, the girls are afraid of deer, LOL), snakes, the Megan's Law pedophile that lives two houses away (about 1/4 mile), no they don't camp out in the backyard.

Good to hear they had a good time. My children used to sleep out in the backyard. I never had a fear of leaving the door unlocked for them. I'm just not a paranoid type person.

The summer we got the tent my boys slept in their own beds ONCE all summer (because it was storming & I forced them to come in!) They were 11 & 8. Even when that tent was 95 degrees with 100% humidity & god-awful stinky they loved every minute of it. I used to Febreeze it & air it out during the day! They've always put the tent up on the deck so they could come right in & out as they please, but tonight we're setting it up down on the grass for the summer.

:scared1: Holy cow! I wouldn't let'em camp out there either!
