Hey all! Have a quick question that I haven't seen on the boards for a long time!

We are cruising on the 1/30/05 Wonder, and we are going to be celebrating our two sons' birthdays.

Got any ideas (i.e., stuff waiting in rooms, cakes at dinner, bringing presents on-board, etc.)? I love reading these boards every day, and I'm hoping you guys will come through with some fantastic ideas! Thanks! Deb

Make sure that you tell your head server that you will be celebrating a birthday and he/she will see to it that a birthday cake is brought to your table on the special day.

Don't forget to ask your Head Server for the Disney Birthday Cruise Pin!! They are not available in stores.

Thanks for the great suggestions! What is the cake like? Is it a small one-person cake or a larger-sized one?

And...thanks for the heads-up on the birthday pin! I hope I remember that for the cruise....I didn't know about that one!

If you would like to see a picture of the cake, LMK and I would be happy to send you a picture. The website that I had disappeared so I can't post a picture from it. It was about 6" in diameter and had a piece of carved white chocolate on the top with a picture of the ship on it. Very pretty I thought. They brought the pin with the cake when DS had his birthday on the ship.

We did our kids BDs on board. We talked to the head server and they brought them each a cake and sang to them! They loved it, even though they tried to be embarrassed. We did theirs at anamaitors palate.

Would you mind sending me a picture of the cake? I'd love to see it! Thanks!

If you booked thru a travel agent, have them give DCL a call and request it. Then, if you can get the head waiter without being obvious - mention it again.

I had my agent do this for my DH, and I called DCL direct to confirm that it was noted on the reservations (it was), but guess what - NO CAKE. Not sure where the breakdown was...

When I mentioned it to the head waiter on his birthday, she bent over backwards to be accommodating, but it was too late... he knew I was up to something. She did hand us a cake on our way out that evening.

The pin was not a trading pin, it was a little round one like the campaign buttons, that reads: "Disney Cruise Line - It's my Birthday". Cute tho.

Hey! Imagine running into you on another board!

Did you guys have a good time on our Hurricane Cruise? I wish we could have been there, but do you see how this works out now?

Now, you can give me some great advice for our re-booked January cruise! :hyper:
