Hi, I was just thinking about how it would be nice to try out a signature restaurant, but I don't really know much about them. I need to know which ones are more kid friendly and which ones are more geared toward adult-only. I need to know which are more formal in atmosphere and dress code too.

My kids are all under 10 and generally well-behaved, but they are kids, so I wouldn't want to take them to a very formal restaurant. I would like to try some really good food though in a family-friendly restaurant.

Thanks for the info.

Please vote for all that you think are family friendly and not for those that aren't.

My DS went to Narcoosees, Cali Grille and Yachtsman in December at age 5 1/2. He is a well behaved kid who likes "grown up food" (his words ;) ) There were also tons of other children at these restaurants (some not always so behaved ;) )

Other than Victoria and Alberts, your children will be welcome at all signature restaurants.

As for dress code, he wore khaki pants and collared shirts (except to Yachtsman since we came straight from DHS in which he wore a nice pair of khaki shorts also with a collared shirt)

HTH!

All of the above! I have eaten at all of the restaurants listed in the poll on multiple occasions (except for Brown Derby and Narcoose's), with and without my children. It's Disney World and I have seen many children at each restaurant every time I have been there.

As long as your kids can be well behaved through a 60 - 90 minute meal and you are prepared to take them out of the restaurant if they start to get out of control, you should feel free to take them to any of the places you have listed.

I don't think Disney really has restaurants that aren't kid-friendly other than V&A. We went to California Grill, Narcoosees, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and Artist Point with our kids, then 6 & 9. We were never the only family with young-ish kids and we never felt out of place having them with us.

We have dined at all of the above with our children - at all ages from babies to teens. All of those restaurants have kids menus and will modify food if it's not on the kid menu.

Truly :goodvibes

The only places I wouldn't take kids is V&A's (age limit) and Bistro de Paris, other than that kids are welcome.

We take our granddaughters...only thing is...our son and daughter-in-law know that if one of the girls isn't in the mood for sitting still through the 2-3 hour dinner, one of them will skip their dinner and get up and leave with the child. Under no circumstances will I interrupt other diners meals. Son and his wife have no problem with this and they have only had to leave once in all the years we dine in fine restaurants together. (lol, my granddaughters are very well behaved)

Even at signature restaurants, its still Disney. They all have kids meals and special desserts for kids. I agree with Webray, that only Bistro and V & A are considered adult only.

Thank you. This has been very helpful.

Do you think that the signature meals last a lot longer than other Disney restaurants? I thought I noticed people saying in their reviews sometimes that they were in the restaurants at least two hours.

They do take longer than other TS, but we only had one that ran two full hours and I think our waiter picked up on the fact that we weren't in any hurry (California Grill, fireworks time reservation with a window table). Other than that, our signature dinners took about an hour and a half, as compared to roughly an hour for other table service meals and a little less at non-character buffets.

Has anyone ever asked their servers, they would like to have their courses quicker since they have small kids? I asume there is a decent amount of time in between appitizers, main meal and desserts, I wonder with kids they will bring them out quicker, if you prefer?

My children really enjoyed Cal Grill. Having said that, it depends on the child and the parents' expectations. :thumbsup2

I chose Cali Grill only because our 7 and 5 year old will be joining us there when we go. My DH and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary while at the World, and Cali Grill is going to be our Anniversary dinner. Since we are celebrating as a family, my DH and I made the decision to have them enjoy eating there and looking out at MK. We have a 5:30pm ADR so they will be able to watch MK and everything that is going on. This will be their first time at a signature restaurant, and I don't have any worries with them because they are both very well behaved little girls, especially when we we are out in public :goodvibes

As noted they are all kid friendly. I voted California Grill as the most kid friendly as around fireworks time there seem to be more kids in the restaurant than adults!
The dress code is the same for all of them--a very relaxed Disney version of business casual, which allows for shorts, jeans and even t-shirts.

The choice I really wanted was "None of the Above". I did answer as HBD only because it is inside a park and there is a lot to see.
