Kids at Pleasure Island?

I've always thought of Pleasure Island at night (after 7pm?) as an 'adult' playground...but I've come across posting about taking kids to Pleasure Island...and to the clubs? Is this true?
I thought that there was a 21 age requirement after 7pm due to the alcoholic drinks. If you have taken kids to PI, which clubs? dancing?

We see kids everywhere. We were in the Adventurer's Club last Friday for the last show. (After midnight) At least the youngest kid was probably pre-teen. But boy did the actors give the parents a hard time about taking their young son into a bar. Their skits are not over the top, but they are adult themed. And by that time I think they figured if the parents allowed them there, so be it.

I was amazed at the number of kids in strollers at PI Late at night/Early morning. :confused3

Many guests have a buzz going, obviously, by then. Nothing near as bad as City Walk where I have seen guests too drunk to stand (and much earlier in the evening). But PI is not for little kids, IMHO.

Thanks...that's what I thought. I'll stick with our original plan of taking our 2 youngest to the Neverland Club, teenagers to DQ...and then Mom and Dad can 'play' in their playground! :cool1:

One time this year we were in Adventurer's Club, early evening -- still during the freebie time.
What I think were more than one family (together) were there with several kids.
One little girl was layingacross a chair, sucking her thumb, skirt hiked up to her waist, legs dangling and spread. (Not good in today's world. Too many sickos.)
One of the actors announced, "I'll have what the two year is having!" :rotfl:

PI is great, but I agree, it's not for kids. Everytime we go, we always see alot of extremely drunk people, both men and women. Hey, they're on vacation and not driving (hopefully) so more power to them. However, I once saw 2 very drunk guys doing jello shots from one of the shot girls outside of 8 Traxx. One of them slammed the shot and proceeded to puke all over himself right there in the middle of the street. :crazy2: You do see kids everywhere, and it certainly not against the rules to bring them and keep them out to 2 am if you like, but I wouldn't do it with my own kids. It's entirely up to you and your own judgement.

We took DD when she was 15 but went as soon as it opened - went to the first show at the Comedy Warehouse and then to AC for about an hour and then left. There wasn't anyone out on the streets or any shot girls out until we left AC - about 9:00. She loved it and we had a great time. Some folks might have a problem with that - but she's was a pretty mature kid and used to being around adults. We didn't have a problem with any of the humor - it wasn't anything worse then what's on HBO. I wouldn't take any kids not at least in high school though - JMO.

And to answer a question of the OP - you can go to PI on your own if you're 18 - just no alcohol and can't go to 2 of the dance clubs. If you're under 18 you can go with adults - I think the adults have to be at least 25 (in other words - no 18 yo "chaperoning" a 17 yo!

We went last year when DD was 18 and pretty much did the same thing - none of us are into the dance clubs or street partying - including DD!

Anyone under the age of 18 can enter all PI club except Mannequins and BET Soundstage (and I think sometimes Motion is 18 and up) if accompanied at all times by an adult age 21 or over.

Personally I would consider the shows at the AC and the CW fine for teenagers. I would not bring in younger kids.

The other night I was at PI towards closing (It was about 1:55) and a very drunk girl got up on stage and flashed her breasts and her butt cheeks. I'm 21 and I was shocked. I can't imagine how a 14 yo would have felt! :earseek:
I guess my point is that I wouldn't bring anyone younger than 17 to the area after about 11:00. Disney sometimes can't control what people do and by the time they get the the offender the damage might already be done.

This is just more proof that some people have *no* class. I thought bringing a 2 year old to a rated R movie was disgraceful. Now bringing children this small to bars and clubs where there is potential rated R behavior going on (inebriated girls who look for attention by flashing as per other poster) is just shameful and selfish. Isn't this illegal at some point? I'm a teacher and it makes me sad that kids have no time to be kids anymore. They are put on the fastest rides, the scariest movies, even bars and clubs so young. In contrast, I didn't know what the f-word was until I was in 5th grade! (I'm only 24, btw) Why? because my parents never said it, and never allowed me to be in a place where I would hear it. I wish all parents would try to protect their children and allow them to enjoy their childhood as I did. There are *many* things children should just NOT be exposed to- for their own safety and their own psychological development. Let them be kids. They're adults all too soon!

We were at the Adventurer's Club on last Wed night around 9pm. There were about 5 small children and 2 infants at that club and 2 big strollers.

BTW Luv2Roam it was nice meeting you on Thursday at All Star Sports!

That place is NOT set up to have enough room for big strollers. Must have been a traffic jam.

there are a few clubs that you HAVE to be 21 (regardless of who's with you)...but other than those, there is no age requirement for entrance..

however, i wouldn't bring little kids there after a certain hour....people walking around drinking alcohol is not my idea of a good thing for kids...

my kids are 18 and 20 and they don't feel all that comfortable in the evening pleasure island atmosphere.

We usually catch the first show at the comedy club and then leave...

BET - FRI & SAT = 21+ ONLY. Nobody under 21 is let in.
Mannequins - THURS - SAT = 21+ ONLY. Any other night is 18+ only.
MOTION = Always 18+ ONLY. Nobody under 18 is allowed in.

Rest of the clubs are 18+, unless the minor is with someone who is 21+ with proper ID.

As far as kids go, I personally suggest that if you take kids, that you go to the early Comedy Warehouse shows. 8:20 or 9:15 - as those are more family friendly. Although everything from the disney performers is "Disney Appropriate" - and if questionable, would be over the kids heads - things shouted from the audience may not be, especially at the later shows after adults have had a few "beverages." The audience is asked to shout out suggestions for their show.

The rest of the clubs, it depends on the night, and how busy everything is, and how old the kids are....

You were mortified, but I'm sure most of the guys on the floor cheered! Am I, right? This is just the reason why I personally wouldn't bring my kids to PI. As an adult, although the drunk chick on stage was pretty classless, I can handle it. It happens in many danceclubs everywhere, but when people are on vacation, they're obviously more prone to drink a bit more than usual and act a little crazier! I'd be more shocked going out and not see some form of lewd behavior from a bunch of 20-somethings on vacation. I'm not making any judgements, just telling you what I've seen. Like I posted earlier, it's not illegal to bring your kids to PI, everyone needs to do what they feel is appropriate for their own family.

TDCNala- I saw Spamalot twice (once in previews) and loved it.
