I was just reading a few posts about the Adventurers Club and The Comedy Warehouse. In one, it mentioned that some people had their kids with them. Is this normal? Would you recommend bringing your kids?

The reason I'm asking is that when we go in July, we (DH and I) were planning on going to PI one night. We had planned to leave the kids at the Cub's Den. However, now I'm wondering if we went early enough if it would be appropriate to bring them. My kids are 6 and 8. I don't want them exposed to a "bar" or "club" situation.

Any advise you have would be appreciated!!

Thanks,

Amy

It is a bar/club atmosphere. The CW and PI will tone it down a little bit at the beginning. But it is adult themed humor. It is not like they are over the top, and probably not anything worse than is on TV on any given night. But the Dumbo ride it ain't. ;)

For Families, I usually suggest getting to PI early, and going to the Adventures Club, and/or the earlier shows at Comedy Warehouse ( 8:20 or 9:15 ), then checking out some of the clubs if the parents feel comfortable taking their kids into the clubs.

The stuff said by the performers in Adv. Club or Comedy are Disney PG to PG-13'ish. The stuff said by the audience in the Comedy Warehouse though, does tend to get a little worse as the night progresses, and the adults in the audience have a few "beverages."

After reading posts on these boards, I took my DGDs to PI last November. We got there early expecting to go right into the Adventurer's Club and then hop over for the first show at the Comedy Club. When we got there, the AC was hosting a private event and didn't open until 9. Seems that's pretty common. We strolled around the stores waiting for the first show at the CC. The comedy was close to an "R" rating, and thankfully went over the heads of my DGKs. When we finally got to the AC, it was PACKED....no where to sit and again, the humor was not appropriate for children. My advice? Leave the kids at the Cub's Den - you'll be glad you did.

The kids I saw last Wed night at AC were 4-9 year olds and 2 infants. Those kids were having a blast. The parents and the children left AC by 10pm. I think my 11 year old would love the quirky humor. But I wouldn't take him to any of the other clubs. When we were there, the streets were still pretty empty. I was with 2 other adults and we left by 10:30. Spent our entire time at AC. It takes a while to get through each room.

They sell liquor and jello shots on the street. Although the place doesn't tend to get rowdy until after 10:00, you can't control for some group of young adults who started drinking at the pool bar at 2:00 in the afternoon and move to PI at opening already quite toasted.
