I am looking to book tickets for the Jollywood Nights but without a lot of information I am worried that it may not be fun for a 13 year old. Am I overthinking this? Only the first two parties are sold out which I think is going to either make or break the event as people report back. We are planning a quick fly in and fly out to attend Jollywood on Saturday and MVMCP on Sunday.

Both Holiday parties are supposed to be “family friendly” but I’ve read that Jollywood is geared a just little more to the adult-ish crowd. I haven’t attended myself, only relaying what I’ve seen reported elsewhere on the boards here and at wdwinfo.com .

There was a network news program that apparently reported that Jollywood was an adults-only after-hours party. A reporter for wdwinfo [Zöe Woods, maybe?] wrote an article to correct the misinformation.

Sorry, I don’t know more… but perhaps you’ll be able to search the sister site wdwinfo.com for the report I mentioned. It did have additional info about what to expect, iirc.

There is a FB group devoted to this party and I saw some discussion about it there. I think there will be plenty of kids. Your child is older than many so I definitely wouldn't think twice about it. Part of the fun for some people might be going into the special bar type areas they're setting up which could be boring for a kid. At that age, I split up with my son here and there while he went to ride things I didn't want to do which could be an option. I'm betting that less people will be there to do the rides than will be doing the special party stuff.

I don't think Disney ever said this was for adults (maybe they did and I missed it). I think people are just taking the vibe and theming and the fact that there is a themed bar area and assuming it is more for adults. I guarantee there will be kids there.

I do think a 13 year old can have fun depending on what they expect, and what you plan to do.

There are two shows but numbers crunched say you'll be lucky to see even one of them. There just won't be the capacity. If one is important I'd get in line early. I think they are banking that lots of guests would rather to the special bars & music, check out all the specialty food and fancy drinks, go on attractions with shorter lines and just be festive. After reviews do your homework so you can focus on some of the things most important to you all.

I've been to DHS for themed event, there were pop up bars EVERYWHERE, that is their biggest money maker. From what they are sharing so far I think it will be similar. It would be no different than evenings at Food & Wine. Probably lots of overindulging adults.

While this sounds right up our alley, I've been to party events at DHS so I've decided at this point not to go. Maybe when reviews come in I'll change my mind. It would be DS and I. We would for sure dress up for the event, find the photopass people, check out the special lounges, try to see the Muppet Show and maybe some specialty foods. FOR sure people watching would be huge! This is exactly the type of event locals will come to, dressed all up and blinged out, and making it an in park bar crawl. 🥂
