Kids at buffets question

I'm hoping the answer to this is yes, but I realized today I really didn't know -- if there's a designated kids' buffet at a restaurant, in addition to the adult buffet, are kids allowed to eat items from the adult buffet if they wish?

Thanks in advance!

The buffets we went to had a "kids food" section (mac n cheese, hot dogs, pizza, chicken nuggets). But kids can eat whatever they like, there is not "mandate" that they eat from the kids section. My DDs ate plenty of "adult" foods when we were there (mostly from the salad bar sections).

Thanks, Bellarella! My kids like a wide variety of food, and the toddler especially likes to be able to sample anything that looks good to him, so that's very good to know! Mine are big on salad bars, too, especially the fruits.

I was almost afraid to ask for fear someone would flame me for trying to take advantage somehow -- I appreciate the friendly and helpful response :)

No flames! Not only do my kids sometimes eat from the adult buffet, I have been known to eat from the kids buffet too  .

I have one DH who actually prefers to eat off the kids section and two DS's who like to try one bite of everything on the entire buffet! :teeth: Buffets do so work best for my family! I'd hate to spend big bucks on a set "meal" and have no one want to eat it, and then be in the park and unable to do a doggie bag. Yes - buffets all the way!

Yes, I think we'll be doing a lot of buffets, too, for the same reason. We're travelling with my parents as well as our kids, so it'll be the best way to make sure everyone finds something they'll like.

Thanks again, everyone :)

Yes, my toddler enjoyed eating "Mommy" food from the 1900 Park Fare buffet. Enjoy your dinner.

Separate note...feel free to ask any questions on the boards. Amazing knowledge from friendly fellow Disney lovers... :earsgirl: the flamings always involve the same 3 or 4 people. :sad2:

One of my first Disney dining memories was eating at Boma with my then 6 year old daughter. The server was so shocked at how she just loved the slamon smoked inthe Bananna leaves. Kids are welome to eat off of any part of the buffets - and someone else noted adults are welcome on the kids section - I have a weakness for the mini-corndogs.

My DD has almost always preferred the "adult" food to the kids food. I am actually happy she will be a dining adult at 10 this December.

They sure are ! Enjoy experimenting with the many foods at the buffets :goodvibes
