Kids and rides

I am glad this discussion has been pretty good. Usually with topics like this, it leads to insults and namecalling.

I think the majority agree that if the kid is a bit nervous but not throwing a fit then encourage them to get on but it's up to the parent to make it happen correctly. If the kid says "I want to get on it" then the parent can't make a face or reply "I don't think you are ready for it" because that creates a bigger block that the roller caoster itself.

I can't wait until June. My daughter who missed Screamin' last time is pumped to ride it. My son is nervous but is going to ride it. The trick is simple......when waiting in line then be happy and excited to ride it.

I learned a lot about my eldest son on our trip to DL last year. NEVER would I have thought in a million years that my timid little Momma's Boy was going to turn out to be an adrenaline junkie! He rode everything but Screamin', and loved them all except Indy (go figure - he's a HUGE Indy fan!?) ToT took a bit of convincing, but once dh told him one of his buddies had ridden it on his trip to DL (same age as my ds), he HAD to do it so he could be as brave as his friend!;)
Forcing, in my opinion, not so good. But persuasion and encouragement, and yes, even bribery and peer pressure can work in your favor!

Remember, your kids will have a great time no matter what they ride!
