This is my first disboard post. I've been reading and reading and learning about this dining plan. What a great board for info!!! :cool1: Anyway...we have 2 adults, 2 kids, and 1 baby. Here is the question...at a sit down restaurant...would it be possible to order an 2 entrees and 2 appetizers and 2 desserts that we can share with the kids and then have the kids 2 extra TS to use later? I am thinking the kids could definately get full on an appetizer if they had one that they like. The basic question is if you have 4 people, do you HAVE to order 4 entrees thus using all 4 credits at that meal?
Thanks!!! It looks like this is a deal that may be too good to last! :cheer2:

Apparently you can, sometimes its frowned upon. For more info search through the forums, perhaps a search for 'sharing with dining plan' or something will help, I think there has been discussion on this before.

I just got back from using the dining plan (6/17-6/21). As long as you tell your server exactly what you are doing, you should be fine.

Please note that sharing meals is fine, as long as it IS NOT AT A BUFFET. You cannot share with your over 3 yo child there; they will be charged a child's rate. However, at a regular menu selection TS restaurant, you can certainly order 2 appies, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and 2 drinks and share them with your kids. If your kids want their own drinks, order them and pay in cash.

Often, adults on the plan will order 1 meal and split it. Just remember to tell your server what you want to do ("we are on the dining plan and will be using 2 TS credits tonight; we'll be sharing with the children") and you will be fine.

I must say, however, that we planned on doing this with our youngest (not yet 3) this past weekend. He would have none of it. Now this is a child that does not eat enough to keep a bird alive, yet he would not settle for something from my plate or dh's plate. So we ended up having to order him a kid's meal, from which he ate perhaps 2 bites. The servers were very nice about giving me a take out container, and I made a point of offering him bites of the remainder throughout the park later in the evening. Most of the time, he managed to consume about 1/2 of the meal by the end. But he would not have sat still (or rather, would not have been willing to stay at the restaurant) if I hadn't ordered him something.

Just "food for thought" for your trip.

Thanks for the information. I wouldn't think sharing would be something to do at each meal but may work well at some- depending on the menu. I am just surprised Disney hasn't filled all these loopholes by specifying how many kid credits you have and how many adult credits you have.
