I've been reading that the kids going to the clubs have to wear wrist bands. Is this for all the clubs? Does the Stack require this? Do I need to sign the children up on the 1st day? Does my 13 yr old have to stay in the stack, his friend is 12 and can not get in so can he go the the other club?

Thanks
Michelle

I don't know about wristbands for the Stack, I would imagine they don't because they are old enough to know their cabin number and muster station.

As far as your 13 year old, I don't think it would be a problem stepping him down to the 12 year olds. They want all of the kids to have fun and enjoy themselves.

No wristbands for the teen club and I didn't have to sign my son up. On our stateroom door, they left him a navigator and an invitation to come and meet everyone.

As for the 13 year old moving down a group, I would just check with the kid counsellors upon registration. They don't allow moving back and forth though. If he does choose the lab, then he won't be able to use the teen lounge. I'm sure it's more important to him to be with his friend.

We did go and sign up our 14 yr old in to the teen club, mainly so we could see what it was like. That night after dinner his personal navigator for the trip was waiting in his room for him.

The rules in The Stack are totally different from the "little kid" programs. No wrist bands, no sign in or out rules, etc.

As to a 13 year old moving down--that is sometimes allowed. However, it is not allowed for a kid to go back and forth between programs. That is, he'd have to be registered in one or the other. They are quite strict about not allowing a 12 year old in the Stack (unless within 30 days of 13th birthday). When DD was 12, she thought this was "mean," but after she turned 13 and I saw the set up, I feel it is really for the best. Remember that there's a huge difference between a "new 13" and a 17 year old.

I'd suggest that you talk with the counsellors--they do occasionally make exceptions. In addition, there are lots of places/things the kids can do outside of the programming so that they can attend their own programs when desired and "hang together" other times. ALternative activities include sports on deck 9, the pools and eateries on 9, movies, and anything listed on the navigator as a "family" activity--karoke, building the vege racers, games, etc.
