I have 3 kids 10,7,1. We were thinking about doing the candlelight processional but I am afraid that my kids will get bored and want to go do other stuff. I think they would much rather go ride rides then sit and watch people sing.
Has anyone experienced this?

My DDs were 3 when we went to see the Candlelight Processional in 2007. They loved it! One spent the entire time watching the conductor and swinging her arms like him, the other was fascinated by the sign language interpreter. Both loved the music and singing. Don't have any experience taking older kids, though. sorry.

My kids loved it at all ages, the music is gorgeous. That being said, we go to church every Sunday so my kids are used to sitting and listening to singing/talking.
There aren't very many rides in WS anyway, and if you go to a late showing your youngest will probably fall asleep.
We LOVE the CLP!!!!

I think you know your kids the best of anyone and if you "think" they wouldn't like it I think you know the answer. It may not be the one you want it to be but you do know it. If you think they will be bored then they probably will be. Don't take them if they are just going to disrupt those around them. It isn't the sort of thing you want to sit there and listen to 3 bored kids fussing until they get so bad that the parents hopefully take them out of there. If it is something you really want to do then maybe you can go and your DH could take them somewhere else for the time, that way everyone gets to enjoy the time.(including strangers sitting near you)

We go to church every week also and they are really good, they do sit there and don't disrupt people, the more I thought about it the more I think they will be fine. It says it is only 45 mins. I was thinking it was a lot longer then that so that was why I was concerned.

Thanks for the reply but my kids are not like that. They would not sit there and fuss and complain, they would do it if they knew I wanted to. My kids are actually pretty considerate when it comes to stuff like that, a lot more then I was as a kid. LOL I just was wondering what kind of experience other people had with kids that age and if their kids enjoyed it.

We are a music loving family - and my neices and nephews - ages 1-16 at the time all LOVED it!!Definately got us in the Christmas spirit - like others have said, the kids were mezmerized with the different instruments, conductor, sign language interpreter - they were in awe!! I love it too!!!

ok, I'll be the odd man out here - it was beautiful and spiritual, but it was a shade long. my kids (15,10 at the time) were definitely starting to poke at each other and get a little bored. :rolleyes1
