Hi!
Just an idea a friend of ours had and I thought it was worth passing on. She gave each of her children a disposable camera to have on vacation for them to take pictures of whatever they wanted to. She said that way they would be able see vacation from the kids' view and also be able to make a scrapbook for each child.
Sometimes seeing the world from a child's point of view is SO much better than from our view!

We did this for my DD (then 5) and she LOVED it!!!! I made her a special photo album that she still looks at. She has already asked to take "5" cameras this year.

We've done disposable cameras a few times for DD7. She loves taking pictures. It is interesting to see what she sees--and how her "vision" has evolved over the last few years. I hadn't thought of her own scrapbook; we'll have to try that! Glad your DD enjoyed too!

My kids love to take pics. They did not use them last time we visited WDW, but they will this year.

We did this too and my kids loved it! My daughter and I made a scrapbook together and she looks at it all the time. :flower:

Our DS 4 (then 3) took his own last year and loved it. We have 2 disposables for him this time. Have to hide 1 because he does get click happy! His only complaint has been that he can't "see" :Pinkbounc the pictures. Not quite ready to buy him a digital camera just yet but one of the disposables does include processing. :cool1:

I used to do this for my daughter who will soon be 9, but she would fill it up on the first day. :rotfl: For her 8th birthday I bought her an inexpensive 2.1mp digital camera and she brought it down to WDW in Feb. She had a blast and with a 256 mb card she can hold around 180 pics. The camera sells for $99.00 new at Target but I got it slightly used on ebay for around $30 after shipping. Can't beat that. :teeth: And in the long run it's much cheaper than developing a whole roll of film for usually one or two good shots. ;)

They have new disposable digital cameras!! They are $20 if you want the preview screen. My exH's parents bought one for my 11 yo DD (not sure I'd spend that much for my 2 boys though - they're 6 and 2 - maybe the 6 yo?)

We've done the semi-disposable cameras for our boys on past trips. They would take a roll of film in about 5 minutes time, then forget about carrying them for days. The shots they got were interesting though. I bought them each a 2.1 mega pixel at Kohls on their after Thanksgiving day sale last year for about $30 each. They enjoy taking the pics, but most of them come out blurry because you have to hold a digital camera much more still than a 35 mm. Oh well they still enjoy taking pictures.

jenr812- Thanks for the great tip! Maybe next trip we'll get him one. :sunny:

There is a store called Party City and they have Disney cameras. I saw a princess one for $9.99. I think it is disposible but I did not look closely. My dd will have just turned 3 when we go and I thought that was a little young. Next year I will get them.

I'm glad you mentioned that you let your 3yo DS have one. I was debating whether or not to let my DD 3 have one. I probably won't give it to her until we get in the park. That way, even if she does shoot the roll off real quickly, it'll be at least pictures from the park, and not of the parking lot, etc. ;)

We did this with our children (age range 12-5) and they all loved it. It made the little ones feel like big shots!! Also it eliminated the older kids from asking to use my digital camera.
