Oooowwwwwwwww! I woke up in the middle of the night with searing pain across my lower right back.....took some meds and was able to fall back asleep. But it intensified this AM, so I went to the emergency room and I have several stones in each kidney! I passed one of them while I was there and thought I was going to pass out from the pain. I'm feeling better now and am seeing a urologist soon-------just had to share my pain with y'all....it was so bad! :crazy2: I hope none of you have to go through that kind of pain.

My Mom had several and she had to have surgery. :(

I hope you feel better soon.

*HUGS* I've had them - horrible pain! I hope you get feeling better soon!

Ugh..My SIL is 9 months pregnant and just got them! She is miserable! And they can't give her ANYTHING for her pain!

Hope you get to feeling better soon!

CBR---I *feel* for your poor SIL. OMG- poor thing. DH and I are sorta trying to have kids, so they had to run a preg test before they would give me the meds....geez, it was the longest 20 minutes or so of my life---most painful anyway. Worse than labor, I'm telling you. At least labor pains go away for a few minutes in between each one. When the nurse said you're not pregnant and she had the shot of torodol in her hand, I said, "Thank God...." Any other time I might have felt a twinge of disappointment, but not today! We have two beautiful boys already---this third one will just be a bonus if it happens. ;)

Kidney stones are the WORST pain in the world. I would rather go thru natural childbirth than have a kidney stone. I used to get them quite frequently. My urologist said my stones were a calcium type. He told me to cut down my milk consuption. I went to the ER so much with them, I had a stock of Percodan which, I think, was the only place you could get them. I guarded those pills like gold! Thank goodness, I haven't had an episode in over 10 years. But I will never forget the pain. I hope you're feeling better soon.

I had one a couple of years ago and the pain is bad. The ER must be used to seeing them because as I walked into the exam room holding my back the first thing the nurse said was "you're passing a kidney stone". I was shocked! It was true and after a night in the hospital it passed the next day.

One of the reasons I really try and drink lots of water. I don't ever want to go through that again!

A cousin showed up at my house one day. He was passing one and needed to go to the hospital. I swear he was green.
