Just realized we'll be at Disneyland in about 25 days! :cloud9:

 Thank goodness!

Anything fun planned this weekend?

Scotty has a bicycle race tomorrow at the Cow Palace in south San Francisco. He's pretty excited and actually so am I. I love San Francisco.

How about you guys?

Here to catch up on all of the fun after a LONG week at work.
Pretty soon you'll be under 400 days
When can you book SSR & THV?

I love SF too. WE haven't been in years but it's a fabulous city. Wish Scotty good luck. pixiedust:

Utah is playing TCU so there is a college football buzz around here- I love it!

Gabby has soccer today for a few hours and I need to organize and we both have some reading to do for her torah portion. I co-teach at religious school so I need to figure out the lesson tomorrow. I totally waited until the last mi u=nute.

How is work?

We can book SSR/THV on Jan 12 but I think we have a major change in plans- like major major. I haven't quite accepted it and it will require adding many days to my countdown but there are pros to the change too.....

My third graders have kept me quite busy! And we're learning a new report card system, so that's been time consuming.

Oh no!
When is the trip possibly going to happen?

Teachers are by far some of the hardest working people. I applaude your ability to something I truly could not do. :goodvibes

As far as the trip goes we have a ton going on over the next two years. Here is a brief timetable:

  • Vegas/Disneyland/So Cal: Dec 2010
  • Gabby bat mitzvah: April 2011
  • Gabby's bat mitzvah trip: May 2011
  • Utah at USC: Sept 2011
  • Chloe bat mitzvah: Mayish 2012

Chloe wants to do MNSSHP at Disney for her bat mitzvah gift instead of having a huge party- which I am all for. :woohoo: However, money is not endless and even if the girls don't have big parties, their kiddush lucnheon isn't cheap. We also have to rent the venue, order kippot, invitations, tallits, etc....

We could do WDW in Dec 2011 and then Disneyland for a few days in October 2012.

That got me thinking........... Let's get APs to WDW and do it 2x in a year. Then DH, the voice of reason or buzz kill depending on your perspective, asked me how we'd pay for all this without going into debt? Been there, done that, not going back. :thumbsup2

Then I got an email from a dear across the pond friend who said she is seriously thinking about October 2012 for the F&W Festival. Duh- how could I forget that. DH would love that as he is a true foodie.

I have my heart set on WDW for the holidays but we'll be at Disneyland in less than a month and enjoying it all dressed yup. DH also said if we wait until October 2012 we can do 2 full weeks which I would love. It will also be warmer for swimming and the water parks which my kids love!

Clearly I am torn. :upsidedow

You're schedule is quite busy!
I understand your DH's perspective and 2 weeks is definitely appealing. BUT you'd have to wait 10 months longer for your WDW trip. Is that something you'd be ok with? It's so hard to not go back.

What is the lowest you've been able to get airfare? Airfare from NYC to MCO has gone up. Jetblue is getting ridiculously expensive. I can't even imagine what airfare runs your family from Utah.

Oh and beware of the AP purchase. It just makes you want to keep planning trips to get the most out of the AP. Welll, that's what I keep telling myself :rotfl:

We're considering doing an AKV/BLT split instead of BLT for the entire time. Do you recommend Kidani or Jambo House?

I have been thinking about everything you said and then some. I snagged great flights for about $200 pp from SLC to MCO. I seem to (knock on wood) have airfare mojo. Jet Blue is re-dick now, re-dick is the way the teenagers say ridiculous :rotfl2:, and I haven't seen anything good from them for a while.

Jambo for sure. Kidani doesn't have a CS. Even with a kitchen I need a CS. Jambo also has Boma which we love. We really enjoyed our stay at AKV. And don't even think about not getting a SV. You must have one because it's soooo cool to wake up and go to bed being able to see the animals. :cloud9:

Putting off the trip 10 months is a long time  and I am unsure what to do. Financially it makes sense to wait but I have my heart set on a vacation next December.

Re-dick :rotfl: Jetblue used to have great fares. Now, they've become so expensive. If I purchase 5 r/t flights on Jetblue its over $1600 from NYC. American is about $1100 and Delta is a little over $1000.

Is it possible to do a trip to WDW earlier in 2012? Maybe in the summer?

I hope it all works out!!

I am sure it will. I am just not looking forward to adding approximately 302 days to my countdown. :faint: I best take a chitload of photos during my upcoming days at Disneyland to be able to do a photo countdown for that long.

Jet Blue is insane! They used to be amazing here too. I could find SLC to LGB (Long Beach) for $59 one way.

Chloe wants to do MNSSHP and that's only in late September and October.

I have not only Michael saying re-dick but also my co-workers. :lmao:

Oh wow, I think your fingers may get real tired for those extra pictures. But it will pay off in the end.
