Ok, so you got me thinking and here's what I got...
335 pts available for Sept 2012 Big Trip!

AKV = 3 studios/306 2bdrm/273
BCV = 3 studios/321 2bdrm/271
BWV = 3 studios/321 2bdrm/269
OKW = 3 studios/228 2bdrm/217 OR...GV/349
SSR = 3 studios/285 2bdrm/246 OR...THV/246
VWL = 3 studios/321 2bdrm/269

Now, the 2bdrm would be if my BFF and her family don't go, than I would do a 2bdrm for my DB and his family and me and my DH. Your comment on the GV got me thinking and made me go back in and look at the points again. I think I metally checked out of GV thinking after I saw one at like 500 points or something like that. BUT...the OKW GV is doable. I could do that once a use year purchase of points (up to 24pts) for $15. I would only need 14 points and at $15/pt I think I could swing it and still not have anyone pay for the room costs.

Of course, they are on their own with EVERYTHING else though - food wise. I'll definitely be making all of the reservations, etc. though.

So..what are your thoughts?

Our first trip was also mid September, but 2008! Our Use Year is October so we always go in mid/late Sept when all of the kiddo's go back to school. I find parents are a bit more leery in taking their kids out of school for a vacation, right when they just started. Know what I mean? Though I will say with the free dining last year, it was a bit more crowded they said. Last year we didn't have rain once except for our last night which started about 10pm and we were already back in the room packing to leave the next morning.

30 days and 7 hours til DL! Gosh I can't wait!:dance3:

30 days!!!! :banana:

I am one of those bad parents who doesn't hesitate to take my kids out but they are great students so I don't worry.

The OKW GV is outstanding. If our friends come and Keith comes then the OKW GV is back on the table. Obviously, points wise, the 2 bedroom is a better deal but how many does the THV sleep? I am thinking you will all fit even if all 3 families come. I believe they sleep 9. :idea: It doesn't leave room for privacy though which is nice but it does save points. The only bummer is that puts adults on the sleeper sofa. The Sudios at OKW have 2 Q beds instead of the bed/sofa combo if that matters. Remember the AKV Value Studios often tend to have a SV. :ssst: With your 335 you can cover all options but the GV. Are there certain amenities that are paramount?

I'm not sure how many the THV sleeps, I know in the 3rd bdrm there is only bunk beds and I'm not sure if my nieces are old enough for them so in reality, the THV probably won't work AND then there is the issue with the living room getting messed up by also becoming a sleeping room. I just don't like that too much. I didn't know that the studios at OKW have 2 queen beds, that's awesome, I think that would definitely be much better than the sleeper sofa. Though the sleeper sofa in the studio at HHI was pretty comfortable.

There really aren't any amenities that are paramount for me. I'm not too picky I guess, except for the organization so the bigger and more bdrms the better. I don't have much to compare to, since we've always stayed in studios at AKV or hotel rooms at AKL. Do you have amenity requirements?

9.

1 queen-size bed in the master bedroom
1 queen-size bed in the second bedroom
1 set of bunk beds in the third bedroom
1 queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room
1 sleeper chair in living room

Recipe please :flower3: I generally am not a thick creamy drink girl (read calories) but cannot say no to eggnog.

I think we value the same things when traveling. I too love having a deck and litchen etc. Standard hotel rooms just don't have those little touches that I have grown to enjoy. As I get older *cough cough* where I lay my head is equally important as how I spend my day.

it's funny, I was on the BC/YC thread before I left and people were having the whole balcony discussion and the comment was made that most people don't use it like they thought they would. I need that space! I can't imagine having it and not using it.

Thanks!:thumbsup2 I don't know about these now...it seems like the people that would have to sleep out in the living room would probably be more comfortable in a studio. I know I wouldn't like it and they would probably say it's fine, but I want everyone to be comfortable and happy with their accommodations. What do you think?

I'm thinking if it were free I wouldn't care if it were me :rotfl:

To me a studio wouldn't be any different than being in the LR of THV (and isn't any better than a deluxe non-villa room....to me b/c of the coulee aspect) but it all depends on how well you know people and how comfortable you are together. I'd like the idea of all being in one building, connected, for eating and drinking but if people are going to be coming and going separately more often than not you might be better off with separate rooms.

In some ways I would have preferred being at THV, BLT or AKV (all of which sleep 9) for the amenities but then I wouldn't have gotten to stay at the YC so...it's always a coin toss with pro's and cons for both sides.

Good points! I would feel the same if someone was giving me free accommodations for a week at WDW, but maybe I'm just trying to make it too perfect. I do think people would be coming and going probably more seperately than not. We would definitely be together at some points of the day, but my BFF is an early hit the parks kind of person and me and my DH don't really move at that pace, we take our time and relax usually hitting the parks by noon. I don't know how my brother is going to be. I think I can't really make any decisions now anyway so we'll see if my BFF ends up going and then I'll take a poll with everyone and see what their preferences are. This all sounded like a good idea at the time.

I don't really have any requirements, I just enjoy having room, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and a non-sleeping common area. :lmao:

1 queen-size bed in the second bedroom
1 set of bunk beds in the third bedroom
1 queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room

That sounds heavenly. If we stay there it looks like DH and I will have the master (duh), Gab can take the Queen room, Chloe and Joshua can have the bunks- they love those, and the sofa and chair will remain sofas and chairs.

::yes:: We used the balcony at OKW, AKV, and the GCV daily for coffee and cocktails.

Ooooo, a poll?! :thumbsup2 I love a good poll. In fact, it might be time for me to add a dining poll to this. :idea:

I agree with Cynthia about them being stoked to be going. When our friends treated us to DVC we paid for their hotel room the first night and groceries.

exactly what we did with the deck at FW, and the balconies at WL and the YC. Also perfect for reading during a rainstorm or while teens do late night swimming! I hated not having a balcony at the HRH!

I LOVE the sleeping layout of the THV.

::yes:: Me too. There is a great thread in the DVC section from stopher (I think) about their stay at the THV. I might have the name wrong but anyway the pics are fanastic! I love a little rain on vacation at the parks. It sort chills everybody out. It rained on our last night during our May 2009 trip. The kids swam and it was a really nice night. I was sad to miss the final castle kiss of the trip though.

I'm back and ready to catch up :surfweb:

:welcome: home! Pun intended. ;) How was your visit home? I loved you FB status changes. Are you doing a trip -report?

:goofy: 467 days!!! :goofy:

This is from our June 2010 trip to Disneyland. My score on TSMM. I finally got the beaver!! :woohoo: My accuracy bites. :blush:

Thanks! I LOVED BLT and can't imagine not having DVC. I could never do a standard room again. I got spoiled by the space :cloud9:
Not sure about the TR. It's back to work on Tuesday for me, so I have to wait and see. Possibly ;)

I am so glad. Once you have DVC, it's is impossible to go back. :rotfl: Seriously. I hope you share some photos here or on FB. Tell me about BLT.

:mickeybar 466 days!!! :mickeybar

Chloe and Joshua, WDW, May 2009. Does anyone really buy these hats? :laughing: Think the sun was in their eyes? ;)

those hats look HOT! And yes, someone buys everything.

Who, for what and why is a whole 'nother question!
