Lately I don't think I can find the answers to any questions, so once agin I turn to DVC experts.

As a new DVC member and a sort of new Grandma, I was wondering if DVC resorts have kiddie pools? Are little ones allowed in pools wearing "swim diapers"? Are there "water play areas" at any of the resorts if children are not permitted with swim diapers? What resort would you recommend for DGD under 2 and not yet potty trained. I can see us making at least 2 trips before she will be completely potty trained.

TIA

There are kiddie pools and splash areas for little ones. I believe the pool rules require anyone not potty trained to wear plastic swim pants over their diapers. I know they sell what they want to kids to wear in the resort gift shops if needed.

Just back from AKV - Jambo, and can confirm that there is a small, separate wading pool right outside of the pool restrooms, and that there were plenty of little ones in swim diapers in the zero entry area of the main pool. Did not venture over to Kidani, but I've heard that their kiddie splash area is great for the toddler set :)

And just a note about swim diapers...they are not meant to actually absorb anything (otherwise, they'd just absorb the pool water and be immediately useless), just to keep any solids INSIDE the diaper. Putting plastic pants or something similar over a normal diaper is not going to work, since the poor kid would just become waterlogged pretty quickly. My DD is potty trained and I didn't seek them out, but I believe the Mara had disposable swim diapers in their little grocery section. You can also use a purpose made reusable swim diaper, or a wrap style cloth diaper cover or "pocket" diaper shell made with "PUL" (both fairly easy to find online).

I can confirm that BW has a kiddie swim area and play area. The sign says please wear swim diapers. And as justbishop said, swim diapers won't contain any liquid.
The kiddie pool is pretty small and the chairs/table/umbrella around it very limited.

Also just a warning, depending on when you are planning to go there the play area gets really really HOT. Along with the pavement. So make sure your little ones wear some water shoes or something on the foot if they want to play on the playground.

Have fun!
