We recently stayed at Animal Kingdom Villas- Kidani. We loved the mattress in our one bedroom villa. Does anyone know what type of mattress it is??
I thought I remembered seeing a brochure where you can purchase a mattress directly from Disney, but I am unable to find anything on the internet.
Thanks for any help:)

Word of warning: Disney Resort Collection is NOT necessarily a collection of the bedding used in the resorts. At least several if not all of the items are not the ones used in the hotels.

Sealy Plush resort grade only available to resort purchase. But the ones in the Resort Collection would be very close. Grand Floridian is the only to have the pillow tops.

We feel the same way about the bed at BLT. We  the bed so much it is almost hard to get out of it each day. It is a good thing Disney is waiting or we would stay in bed. :goodvibes

A few months ago, I was so enthralled with our mattress at POR, I stripped off the sheets, wrote down the info, and then called WDW. The same, hotel grade mattress is used at all WDW resorts, she told me, including DVC. It was a Sealy Encore Plush 720. Unfortunately, although what they sell is called Encore Plush, it's not exactly the same as the resorts (I don't know how-maybe coil count, coil guage, thickness of plush?). I was so discouraged I couldn't buy it.

Thanks for all of the info. On the website, I couldn't find the info regarding coil count etc.
I have been dreaming of that bed since we left Animal Kingdom. I am really bummed to find out it's not exactly the same mattress they have at the resorts.
I feel like Mattress places are such a scam and I would love to just buy something I have already slept on and loved.

I called Disney Resort Collection yesterday and they said that the mattress used in AKV- Kidani is the Encore Plush. It has a 928 coil count in the king mattress with 5 layers of quilt.

The lady I spoke to said that it is the exact mattress in the resort. There was not an option to choose firm or not.

They take 6 weeks and shipping is extra $225 for King.

It is an innerspring mattress and price includes a 9 inch box spring.

Just thought I would share.
I don't think we are going to get it, because I really want the mattress to be FIRM and I'm not sure what the coil guage is (I forgot to ask).

Hope this info might help anyone else who is considering a Disney Resort Mattress.

You know we've stayed at a number of Disney resorts in the past 18 months and I would not say all of the Disney resorts and DVC villas have the same mattresses. I know that the one at BLT was the most comfortable one I've ever slept on. We don't stay at Kidani until June 2011. But the beds at BWV, Coronado Springs, Caribbean Beach and POP Century were not the same mattress we had at BLT. And none of them were the same as each other. The POP mattress was like a rock. If I had to pick my second favorite, I pick Coronado Springs, it was a close second to BLT's mattress.

I suppose usage could affect a mattress so that I may have slept on an older bed in some of those resorts (except we had a new remodeled room at CBR with new beds, we were told).

My husband and I have been DVC members for 10 years - we've stayed at practically every resort but Boardwalk (the clown pool slide freaks me out - but that's for an entirely different post) I digress. We both LOVED the mattress at Kidani Villiage. I'm SHOCKED to find out it was a plush - - the reason I liked it so much was that it was firm. Have they gotten new ones? We have a pillow top at home and it was nice not to have it at the resort. Anyway - - I wonder if anyone knows the closest thing to the mattresses they have there?
:) tx!
