Kidani Village requests

I just booked a 2-bedroom SV for next March. When I got off the phone, I realized I didn't make any requests. And then I realized I don't know what requests to make!

We will be five adults and one 3-year-old. I'm thinking I should request a dedicated 2-bedroom (and is that just a request or is that a guarantee?) What else should I request? We will have a rental car, if that makes any difference. And I hate the long hallways at BW and would like to avoid that. And, obviously, we would like a good view as two adults in the party are serious "balcony vacationers."

Thanks for any advice.

We have a similar party going in April and I requested a dedicated 2br, 3rd or 4th floor, close to the lobby. From what I've been reading, most of the animals tend to hang out by the middle of the building.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your trip!

From what I've been reading, most of the animals tend to hang out by the middle of the building.

This is true. Also, if you plan to use the facilities at KV you should request to be close to the lobby, as it has very long hallways if you're at the end. We were all the way in Zazu, which was a long walk to the lobby, but a shorter walk to Jambo.
Also, the pool/gym is located towards one end of the building and the sports courts are located towards the other. If one of these appeals to you more, you may want to factor that in.
If you are driving everywhere, then you will not have a problem with the hallways, as you can drive right up to and park near your closest elevator.
Also, as an FYI, the lobby and the shop are on the second floor. We had a second floor room and I had no issues with that level.

I booked a 2BR standard at Kidani for next April. Since it is our family of 4 plus my parents, I preferred a lock-off. That way, we still get our 1BR and mom and dad get their own "connecting" studio. When I made the reservation, I got the confirmation number and then remembered that I had forgotten to request a lock-off. She told me that the lock-out is a separate booking category and she had to reserve it as such. So, she "cancelled" my original ressie (presumably for a dedicated 2BR) and changed it. My confirmation now says "2BR L/O Std View".

I made my reservation on the first day of my 11-month window and I wonder if they book up the dedicated 2BR's first (to keep the 1BR's and studios available) unless the L/O is specifically requested. Then, when all the dedicated's are gone, they start booking the L/O as the default. JMO.

As far as your view goes, I can't help you...just envy you! I've had Savanna views on my previous two trips to AKV (once in a SV studio and once in a value 1BR) and this will be the first time that we will have to settle for standard views. We have 2 nights in standard studios at Jambo followed by 3 nights in the standard 2BR at Kidani. We really wanted to try out Kidani, otherwise I would have taken a value 2BR and hoped for a savanna view again.

Have a great trip!
