Kidani Village (making requests)

I've read enough threads on here to make my head spin...from strollers to tie dye to Mr. Potato Head. Along the way I have forgotten what I discovered on a few topics. So bear with me as I know this has probably been asked\answered a thousand times.

So, WHERE do I wasnt my room to be? *we have 2 DD's aged 7 and 4. I of course want the room that enables us to see the animals, is close to the lobby and any other top rated amentity!
WHEN should I make the request?

This is our first trip since joining the DVC. Our last 2 trips were at the Values and prior to that off-site.

You should make the request when you make the reservation.

The 1st floor is actually the parking garage level so you'll most likely want 2nd floor, close to the lobby.

Unless you want to be near the pool, (I don't like trekking through the halls in wet suits) Ask to be near the community hall (it's near the lobby, the laundry, the bus stop and the place they'll want to be most of the time: the fun and games!)

Agree to asking near community hall and lobby. You will be close to the bus stop as well. We have stayed in the second building to the right of the lobby right by the bus stop and loved the location. The pool is a short walk as well.

We are staying in a 1BR with a Savannah View. We booked about 5 months ago. I'm hoping I can call member services tomorrow and put a request in to be close to the community hall.

You'll also want to request a lower floor for better views of the savannah.

If you are driving, you may want to request close to an elevator. You can park your car under the building by the elevator closest to your room and shorten your walk.

Top request should be close to lobby. Do not make anything else your first choice. A second request could be lower floor.

Why close to lobby? The distance from lobby to end rooms along the wings at Kidani is about 1/3 mile. It is a walk you want to try to avoid with a four year old after a long day in the park.

We were just there and were right by the Timon elevators. For us it was perfect b/c it was right at the bus stop, so less time going to a from the room. (Still quite close to the lobby, but how often are you really at the lobby anyways?)

We had a split stay at Kidani, first two nights on the Pembe savannah, next 5 nights on Savannah. While we enjoyed the different animals on Pembe savannah (no giraffes or zebras), the room was far from the lobby/pool. So if you want to be close, I'd also suggest asking for Sunset savannah.

^Again make close to lobby first request; that automatically gets you Sunset Savanna view so you don't need to add Sunset Savanna as a request.

Called MS today and OFFICIALLY requested close to the lobby. Never made a request before so we'll see how it works out for me!
