I am so excited! We just became DVC members. :cheer2: Our home resort is AKV.

This question is for those of you who are familiar with Kidani Villas.

We reserved a 2 bedroom (non lock off) standard view. We would like to be right near the pool and have the underground parking close by. I have looked at the map and the pool seems to be placed directly next to the parking lot; and, there appears to be the underground parking close by.

Can I ask for a "pool view"? Which I am hoping, would place us directly in front of the pool area, which also has the underground parking close by. Is that a correct assumption?

Or would this not be possible; because, they do not have 2 bedroom (non lock off) standard views in that location? I cant find any information from the map which would show what type of rooms are in each section of hotel?

My son has autism and has way too much energy. Frequent trips to the pool helps to calm him down. Also, if there is underground parking close by, that will help with him not darting out in front of cars.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. ;)

The underground parking lies under all the rooms so no need to request that. The pool is a fair distance from Kidani hidden behind the valet parking I'd be surprised if any rooms at
Kidani have an actual pool view because of how tucked away it is. Best bet would be to request near the lobby

Thanks for the information! :thanks:

There are parts of Kidani that do face the pool. If you stand facing the main entrance the left side of Kidani is facing the pool. We have stayed on the right side of the main entrance and it was a quick walk over to the pool. But on that side you do have to cross the road or walk along side the building.

Kidani has an awesome splash pad. DS6 is autistic and we chose Kidani for the splash pad and the pool. Plenty of room to run.

Hope this helps.

Last year we had a standard view dedicated 2-bedroom at Kidani. I believe it was room 7725. A perfect location - not too far from the lobby or from the pool. You couldn't actually see the pool because of the foliage, but our room did face the pool. Since we were right beside the Rafiki elevator, it was a quick ride down to level 1, across the road and into the pool area.
You are going to love Kidani!

I think if you request close to Rafiki Elevator you will be fine. Be aware that requests are just that, requests...not a guarantee. I think you might also be able to request pool view. I think you will love the Kidani pool area, it is great for all ages; there is a splash area in addition to the pool so it's good for all ages.

Call MS and add "near pool" as a request. We stayed in a standard dedicated 2BR at Kidani and that is what I did. Our villa was in the Rafiki section. The Rafiki elevator takes you right to parking (there is parking under the entire building, though, so every section should be convenient to parking) and a pool entrance. Our balcony was directly across from the pool, but the foliage blocked the view of the pool. Rafiki section is not far from the Kidani lobby, but it is no the closest section to the busses or Jambo house. We didn't find the walk to Jambo to be too far, but others might.

Thanks to everyone for helping me with my question. I really appreciate it. Hopefully I will have some pixie magic with my request. If not, just being in Disney is what it's all about. So excited! :cheer2:

Thanks also for the info on the splash pad. That is a great idea. :disrocks:

The shortest walk to the pool is from the Rafiki elevator and any standard rooms near it look towards the pool. Put in a request for "close to Rafiki elevator."

A good number of rooms in the Rafiki section also overlook the entry porte corchere of Kidani Village. We've stayed in those rooms twice, once second floor and once on fourth floor. Also, you mentioned about your son possibly running in front of cars....be aware to get to the pool you will need to go from the lobby out the front door and down the sidewalk to the right of lobby....at times there can be quite a few moving vehicles in that area since bell services and valet are at the front entrance. I believe the Cruise Line buses also use that area in front of the porte corchere. As long as you stay on the sidewalk there is no problem, but, please be aware there are cars/taxis/Cruise Line buses driving in the area you need to walk past to get to the pool.

Although you may overlook the port cochere, it's not necessary to walk through the lobby. You can access the pool by walking down the hall to the Rafiki elevator and going to the parking level and across the street - it's well away from the bus and main entrance traffic. Of course you still have to watch for cars entering/leaving the parking garage. Hope this helps.

Thanks for sharing this! It definitely helps to have a better idea of the traffic flow! ;)

Thank you!
Having an option with less traffic flow is always a plus; so, We will be sticking with Rafiki.

If you explain your request, I believe you are more likely to get it. My family took my best friend and her family along to Kidani Village and I requested to be near the elevator and lobby because she has a heart defect and we needed to watch how much walking she did. We got very near the elevator by the lobby fifth floor. Perfect!
