Kidani to Universal

Hey all,
I am debating on heading to Universal to check out the Harry Potter park. We have always just done WDW but I do have a 9 DS that is a huge Harry Potter fan.
How do you all get there?
What is the most cost effective? Cab, Uber, rent a car, some kind of shuttle?

IMHO, I would spend 1 night on site at Universal. You would get 2 days of free express pass and early entry into the Harry Potter sections of the parks. ie: a split stay.
