I think Jambo standard views are all pool views. How about Kidani? Any parking lot views? If so, anyone have one and how was it? And what recommendations would you make regarding requests?

Parking lot, pool and bad savanna views.

bad savanna views.

Really? I just can't imagine any savannah view being bad-but with my luck, I'd find out! Could a standard view be overlooking the bus stop? I had that at BWV once, and found I liked it, watching all the people come and go-skipping TO the bus stop in the am, then dragging back in the pm. But I gotta admit I was set back and didn't get the noise from the buses.

They are the ones where the view may be blocked by the people pens or other outside equipment.

We did have a standard view studio (Room 7955) at Kidani in January which was on the 5th floor.

When we got to our room we were surprised to see animals below. I think it was called the Pembe Savanna. It wasn't big but had some animals. We could also see a parking lot off in the distance.

We thought this was OK for standard view. :thumbsup2

We stayed at Kidani in June of 2009 [right after it opened] and I thought the rooms were absolutely beautiful. We were in the second 'bead' to the north of the lobby [studio - standard view]. At the time it was the last section opened on that wing. The porte cochere was to the left and I could see 192 buildings off in the distance; personally, I hate for the real world to intrude on my vacation. :goodvibes Mind you, the trees and vegetation had not grown much yet, so I don't know what it might look like now. I also could hear all of the transportation buses, including the ME luggage box truck - even with my white machine on. Drove me crazy, but I'm very sensitive to noise. :guilty:

While I think the standard views are a great points deal at Jambo, I told myself right then and there I would never stay at Kidani without doing a Savannah view. :lovestruc

we stayed twice in a standard view- our rooms where 2 doors away from the previous stay. room number 7223 --we were on the 2nd floor-- which is the main floor w/ the lobby. We had a parking lot outside our villa but very few cars were parked there-- it was gate controlled. We could occasionally hear the beeping of the bus late at night but it did not bother us at all. Overall it was a really quite area.

We were in room 7529 at Kidani. Even though we overlooked the parking lot (I know this sounds crazy) but it was so peaceful! The tennis courts and shuffleboard courts (which never seemed to be used by anyone but us!) were empty and could be seen in the distance. I personally do not like a "pool view" because the noise from people swimming at night drives me crazy. Give me a parking lot view any time! :thumbsup2

Examples of "bad" savannah views:

This was from my Jambo standard view (reclassified from savannah view)

This guy slept right below my room every night. It was fun to watch him work his way thru the spikes meant to keep him in the savannah. He'd come over at dusk and be gone by the time I woke up.

I just stayed in your same Standard Jambo room 3 weeks ago-we were happy because certain times of the days there were quite a few animals out there - we had planned that we wouldnt see any. :)

we requested to be close to the lobby and got a room overlooking the checkin area where you drive up. we didn't dislike the location as it was close to the bus stop and to the pool & lobby but you definately don't have a view and the balcony was a little noisy at times (the rooms were not )
if you want to be close to a bus stop, make sure you request that because some locations are quite a walk to the bus stop (the pool is not super close but the savannah view rooms are quite a distance from what i saw)
