Kidani request questions

As to close to pool, that request itself can work but close to Rafiki elevator would put you as close as possible to the pool (there is an entrance to the pool area fairly close to the Rafiki elevator from the ground (parking lot) floor,.

As to how long the walk can be from rooms to lobby:

There are two very long wings, north (the pool is along that side) and south (the bus stop is on that side). The front entrance faces west and the south wing is the one that runs toward the Jambo entrance. Both wings are very long but the north wing is about 80 yards longer. The distance from lobby to the end rooms on the north wing is just a little under 1/3 mile. Adults at normal (but not casual) pace can do it it in about 5 minutes give or take 30 seconds; with anything to slow you down, like young children, the time can increase to more like 7 to 9 minutes. The hardest walk is coming back from a full day in the park with kids, particularly if any need to be carried from the bus stop. One of the worst things that can happen to you is to walk in the morning from room near the end of the north wing to the bus stop and then discover you forgot something. It is at that moment that you will likely curse the day that you ever chose to stay at Kidani. Nevertheless, the resort is a pleasure and the 1 and 2BRs are very nice and very large.

How would that walk compare to walking from BLT far side of the resort to the bus stop in front of the Contemporary? We've done that many times, so just wanted to compare to long walks at Kidani, where we are staying next! Thanks!

Have done both walks. The one from end rooms on north wing of Kidani to the Kidani bus station is longer than that BLT walk to the Contemporary bus station. Kidani walk is closer to the one from the BLT doorway to where the actual resort bus stops begin at MK. However, if your room is on the Kidani south wing where the bus station is, the walk is much shorter and even from end rooms on south wing not quite as far as that BLT walk from BLT far side to Contemporary bus station.

Giordano's is AMAZING and just around the corner from AKL.

Do whatever you have to do to not wind up at the end of the hall. We just spent a week out at the end of civilization (in a beautiful room) at Kidani and it really did tarnish my impression of the resort. The walk was just awful.

And this is why we will never, ever, ever again stay at Kidani.

I love animals, I love the savannah view, but I won't stay again.

I requested Sunset Savannah. We got put on the Pembe Savannah (that has NO giraffes or zebras).

We were like the second to last room. It was a super long walk. I didn't time it, but it was more than 5 minutes. I will never stay at Kidani again. It's just too much of a risk.

Us too. Jambo only if we do AKL.

I think we will be spending more time in the Jambo lobby than the Kidani lobby. So for room requests, what elevator is the furthest south, and the closest to Jambo?

Thank you!

Odd question, do the rooms have cookie sheets?

Not routinely. One visit, we were making pizza in the room, and we didn't have any type of baking sheet. Improvized serving on the pizza boxes covered with aluminum foil.

I think we had the same room, in June 2013. It really peeved me because I made my reservation at 11 mos out, I did online check in, and had no requests. And I was doubly peeved by being on the fourth floor, and the next room over was one of the rooms reclassified as standard view, and that the animals were inside during the time we routinely had breakfast, about 6:30 am-9am. I know that one could see animals elsewhere, but, on our balcony we can relax with our coffee in our PJs if we want. But, I have stayed 15 other times with a good savanna view.
