As to close to pool, that request itself can work but close to Rafiki elevator would put you as close as possible to the pool (there is an entrance to the pool area fairly close to the Rafiki elevator from the ground (parking lot) floor,.
As to how long the walk can be from rooms to lobby:
There are two very long wings, north (the pool is along that side) and south (the bus stop is on that side). The front entrance faces west and the south wing is the one that runs toward the Jambo entrance. Both wings are very long but the north wing is about 80 yards longer. The distance from lobby to the end rooms on the north wing is just a little under 1/3 mile. Adults at normal (but not casual) pace can do it it in about 5 minutes give or take 30 seconds; with anything to slow you down, like young children, the time can increase to more like 7 to 9 minutes. The hardest walk is coming back from a full day in the park with kids, particularly if any need to be carried from the bus stop. One of the worst things that can happen to you is to walk in the morning from room near the end of the north wing to the bus stop and then discover you forgot something. It is at that moment that you will likely curse the day that you ever chose to stay at Kidani. Nevertheless, the resort is a pleasure and the 1 and 2BRs are very nice and very large.
