What are the pros and cons? I know Kidani has 2 bathrooms, but in general people seem to want to stay in Jambo. Which do you prefer and why? (This would be 1br Savannah in June)

We tend to prefer Kidani but stay at Jambo when we can get the value rooms.

Kidani has the extra bathroom in the 1 and 2 BR's, is a more quiet atmosphere, and has the covered parking where you can park near the elevator closest to your room (if you drive of course). Jambo has the more impressive lobby and has more to offer as far as restaurants go (in normal times).

There is a shuttle that runs between them though which we use frequently and really makes it so that it's not a big deal to use amenities at either location.

If studio, preference is Jambo. The studios are about the same size at both. Jambo wins in that situation because it has the larger and more impressive lobby, larger store, and three restaurants to Kidani's one, and more shade at the pool area..

If 1BR or 2BR, it is a no-brainer, Kidani wins hands-down because the rooms are significantly better than the ones at Jambo. They are about 100 sg ft larger than Jambo, have the extra bathroom, more closet space, and have the separate tub and shower in the master bathroom rather than that atrocity of a combined jet-tub and shower in Jambo where the stepover to get into the tub is so high and wide that it can be very difficult to do for older guests or anyone with even minor knee or leg issues. Moreover, with a 2BR you can get a dedicated with the extra bed rather than couch in the second bedroom and a balcony that runs across all the rooms rather than having a wall between the studio and 1BR with a lock-off. The pool area is fine, with the extra long slide and separate water-play area for kids.

I've owned there since it opened and I say this all the time...

Kidani is home on the savannah.

Jambo is the hustle and bustle of a 5 star resort on the savannah. Arguably, Jambo is the closest thing on property to a true stand-alone resort that doesn't have to have the parks, necessarily; to create a draw.

It all depends on which experience you prefer. We prefer Kidani. Jambo is a 5 minute stroll for us when we want to go over. It's easier to us to go to it than to get away from it.

I love this description of the difference between Kidani and Jambo. It captures the experience really well.

We're studio people and solidly prefer Jambo so we can get the "hustle and bustle" in the lobby along with the peace and calm of the room. And it was the best spot to stay for a no-parks trip.

In a studio, they are almost equal, if you have a car, that makes Kidani a plus over Jambo studio. In a 1 BR or larger Kidani is the winner hands down.

Good job!

Great point. I always drive down so it's easy to miss that important point because I just don't even think about it.

Jambo Master Baths don't have the separate shower and tub. And the master bath isn't in the master bedroom. Kidani master baths are large and luxurious.

Jambo is just converted hotel rooms.
