We currently have a studio Savannah view for April 2019. Was thinking of waitlisting Jambo house for the same room type. Is it worth the effort? It seems that the only advantage is being closer to the main building. Are the studio rooms different? I'd appreciate your input.

Have stayed at Kidani 2BR with our 2 adult sons and it was fabulous with 3 baths, pool was lovely but I missed convenience to Mara, Jambo pool, and more of a resort “vibe” gorgeous lobby etc. DH and I stayed twice in a Jambo studio and loved it. One trip was an early Dec trip, lobby was gorgeous with Xmas tree really enjoyed it! Both resorts are lovely, my personal preference is Jambo, convenience to Mara..love my early morning coffee hanging in pretty lobby!:goodvibes:thumbsup2

All DVC villas in Jambo House are converted hotel rooms. Kidani Village was built as a DVC resort.

Size wise, there is only 1 sq foot difference. The bathroom layout is different between the two.

The Jambo House Studio bath layout is more like the other DVC studios where the sink area is open and the toilet & tub are together in a room.

The Kidani Village studio bath layout has the sink and tub together with the toilet behind another door.

Since it will be an adults only trip as well as our first non-park trip I'm thinking of just keeping Kidani. We won't be doing any rope drops so will have time to chill out and just enjoy AKL.

If you want to travel between buildings, you have several options:
  • Walk (10 - 15 minutes)
  • Internal shuttle (operated by bell services)
  • Disney Buses
    • To get from Kidani Village to Jambo House, get on any theme park bus.
    • To get from Jambo House to Kidani Village, get on the Disney Springs bus.

For studios there are minimal differences between the rooms themselves. Since you have savannah view, however, Kidani might be a better choice. At Jambo all the DVC rooms are up on the 5th floor. At Kidani you could ask for a lower floor and get a better view of the animals.

That, and the covered parking in Summer is a win, win for me. Not to mention the living space layout is better.

Does Jambo have the better lobby, absolutely but I can take the internal resort shuttle, 5 minute wait, over anytime I want. I see and enjoy the lobby when we eat at Jiko. Mara/food courts are of no interest to us, the Kidani pool bar food is great for lunch or even better Sanaa. I travel with my favorite coffee, commandeer the coffee pot to the master, brew at 6am and watch the animals from the balcony while everyone else sleeps. We love Kidani.
