Kidani Opening ??

I have a 2bdr SV kidani booked for 9/26 - 10/2, will all of the construction be done by then? If not I might consider somewhere else instead.

I'd say it's likely, yes.

The 2nd phase (which is the last of the units) is due to open September 1st. It's always possible that there could be some construction delay, and they're still working on units past that date. But, so far, the opposite has been true: They've been ahead of schedule and deadlines, apparently/reportedly. IF there was any construction, it would almost certainly be interior construction on unfinished units...and you'd probably never notice it unless you were walking around the resort and stumbled onto the "curtained" hallway/area.

KyleRayner....Thanks for the pixie dust....it must have worked. I called this am right at 9am to switch my first 2 nights (10/13 and 10/14) and got a 2 bedroom lockoff savannah view at Kidani. When I called she said she only had 2 available which made me so nervous to cancel the standard BW I had ....those few minutes til they say "all set" is nerve wracking.Cannot wait to stay there like all the rest of you!!!

Another question though.....can we, as "occupants" of this resort take any of the savannah tours offered? TIA

The sunrise tour at AK park is only offered to concierge guests.

The sunset one - it's made available to any AKL guests, but the price for non-concierge guests is much higher than that for concierge guests. Haven't heard if this will be extended to Kidani guests.

Thanks for all of your replies. I decided to go with Kidani. This is a trip with just myself and my two cousins. It's a short trip (3 nights). AKV was the ONLY place the three of us were interested in - although most of my points, and my fav place is BWV. We added on recently at AKV and I'm in love with how gorgeous it is and the animals! My cousin, Laurie only stays at AKL when she goes to Disney (very rarely), my other cousin is game for anything, so we chose AKV.

At first I was thinking I'd need to be in Jambo with the proximity to Boma and Jiko, but we also need a lunch place, as we will spend most of our time here anyway. The savannah view is extremely important, but it was the larger room and second bathroom that won out!

Thanks again for your help.

I think Kidani will be just as awesome as Jambo and the new water area will be awesome for kids and bigger kids (like us) - plus second br - awesome. Have a great time.
