Sorry if this has been posted already.

Kidani Village at AKV will officially open May 1st, 2009. Reservations will start being accepted by Member Services on August 10th, 2008.

party: I guess I need to figure out exactly when in July/August of 2009 we will be taking vacation so I can take advantage of that 11 month window!!! :dance3:

How exciting! I haven't stayed at AKV yet because I wanted to wait until Kidani was complete. So hopefully I'll be able to get in next year at the 7 month window. Can't wait!

 :woohoo: :yay:

Excellent! So we'll be able to book reservations of up to 11 months in advance starting in August?

Excellent! I have booked a value studio for the Victoria Day weekend. I can go check out the new building and use the new pool. Does anyone know what type of resturant (price wise) is going to be in the new section?

I'm guessing it may be on the level of Jiko? Just a guess, but when they spoke about it at a members event in Chicago I had the feeling it might be considered a "Signature". Either way, I know its one we probably will not be frequenting as I did not like the food (not big on curry and other spices along that line), although DH really enjoyed the food we were served at the event.

Will those only with home resort priority be able to book August 10th? Or will anyone be able to book?

Kidani opens May 1st 2009. Booking will begin August 10th, which is 9 months out. So people with AKV as home resort will be able to book for May 1st on Aug 10th with a 2 month head start on everyone else. Everyone else will be able to book at 7 months out.

Wow ... duh ... now that I re-read it ... :rotfl2:

I guess my mind saw 10th and thought May = 5, so that's 7 months.

Thank you! :thumbsup2

I need a nap. :faint:

They already have Jiko the signature resturant, Boma the buffet and Mira the counter service. Something of a mid-price family style sit-down resturant would be great.

Remind me to try that restaurant before Disney figures out that the majority of its visitors aren't interested in Indian spices and changes the whole thing.

Same here! We've been waiting a long time for Indian food at WDW.

We are very excited about the new restaurant at Kidani, too. I'm figuring if it's the only restaurant at Kidani, then it will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We'll see.

Are there details posted somwhere of the new spaces? (i.e. how many studios, 1 bdrms, etc.). I can't wait to stay here once the pool area is complete.

Both the DVC member website and allears.net report that Sanaa will be open for breakfast and dinner (ie. no lunch!). It will have 120 seats of table service and a 24 seat lounge.
