Ugh I'm sorry the fabric doesn't seem like it's working out for you! Have you checked out Joann's? I just looked on their website, and I didn't see any fabrics exactly like what you had found, but they do have a few with Mickey, and a bunch of other character ones too! (A bunch of Little Mermaid stuff, which could be appropriate for the cruise!)

I have checked at our local Joann's. Actually, it is where I bought the other stuff for my fish extender. I will take a look at the link, though and see if their website has something I want.

My back-up plan was to take the .jepg file of the fabric and iron it onto some plain white fabric with some t-shirt transfer paper. I can doctor it up in photo shop. But I really just want the fabric. I am glad the lady wrote me back finally. Thanks so much for sharing Sara.

It is here !!! Finally !! DH just called from the house and said that my fabric arrived in today's mail. I ordered it Jan. 19 so it took its sweet time getting here. More later on fish extender progress. YAY !!!

OK, so when I got home from work I got busy on the computer and have a rough design of five different fish extenders.

You guys let me know which one you like best.

My tennis pal that has an embroidery machine is helping me. I want to put "Cruisin' with the Cranes" at the top and our names on each Mickey/Minnie head with the Disney font. I was thinking of using yellow thread for that, but maybe white will be better.

Let me know what you think.

OK that is totally weird. I can see that picture on my computer but not on my tablet. Strange. Can you guys see the photo in the post above ?? Going back downstairs to kick the kids off of the computer so I can check it.

I circled the one I like. I also played around with my Disney font and I think I like the white better over all. Although the red is cute on the Minnies, and I think red would look good for your "Crusin' with Cranes" (awesome BTW!) across the top.

I like that one best, too. It uses more of my awesome Disney fabric. THANKS for putting the names in there. It really helps me. I think I like the red lettering better than the white.

Tell me what program you used. And how did you load the Disney font into that program ?? I NEED it !! I played around with it in Photoshop but couldn't figure out how to load the font. But I didn't try very hard, the kids were wanting to get on the computer and play Wizard 101.

And I totally hope you can come cruisin' with us, too. To Alaska or anywhere !!

Thanks so much for your input. I may have to go with the second one from the left because I don't have a whole lot of the black and white Mickey fabric. But I am so thrilled with it. I wish I had a whole bolt of each type.

So I have been home sick with the crud the last couple of days and in my boredom, I decided to get started on my fish extender. Even though I like the first option best, I just don't have enough of the special Mickey fabric to do it, so I chose option two because its design is a better distribution of the fabric I already have. And I don't want to order any more and have it take another month to get here. I'm too impatient. So I sewed the pockets today.

Pockets for the boys (there are two).

I have already talked my friend who has an embroidery machine and we have plans to get together this weekend and sew the names on each of them and put the title on the top piece "Crusin' with the Cranes" in the Disney font.

After that, I will sew the whole thing together. I forget how much I enjoy sewing.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. I don't think, at least in our area, that it ever got cold LONG enough or a deep freeze to get rid of the germs. I've been playing with my cold off and on since November and am REALLY getting tired of it.

Thanks Kathy !! I have strep. And that stuff kicks my hiney. I think tomorrow I will be feeling well enough to get back to work. Plus I have been taking antibiotics for a day or two.
Our winter has been very mild here as well. Last year we got a lot of snow for our area. Broke records on snowfall and low temps. This year the coldest it has gotten is low 20s at night. We have been high 50s to mid 70s during the day. It will start getting warm here in March, so I don't think we will have much of a winter this year.
