Sorry if this is something that is posted over and over again. I have tried to go back and look but got so involved reading the posts that I figured it was time to post one myself! Anyway, we are going to our "home" resort for the first time in March. We booked a savannah view studio for 11 nights. Now my dh is wondering if we should call and see if by some miracle the concierge is available. My question is what kind of view does concierge have? Really looking forward to sipping tea and looking at animals from the balcony. Any info on concierge would be appreciated. It only comes out to about an extra 23 points for the trip. I am ashamed to say I haven't been on these boards for awhile... actually not since our trip in August to Vero. Thanks! :)

Concierge will be in Jambo house and there are two views- savannah and pool view. You are not guaranteed which one you'll have. There's no harm in calling but I doubt you'd find availability for 11 nights. Perhaps if a few nights were available you could do a split stay- this way you can keep your gtd savannah view at Kidani for part of the trip.---Kathy

Three of the studios (all lockoffs) face Sunset Savannah and two face the pool with Udani in the distance. The view of the animals is not the best due to the elevation (6th floor). The 6th floor itself is magical IMO. But if watching the animals from your own balcony is a priority, I'd stick with what you've booked.

Have fun!

The concierge rooms can have a pool view or a savanna view. You can request a view, but it's not guaranteed. If it's important to you to have a view of the animals, you should book savanna view.

What I'm doing in October is staying in a concierge room for 1 night, then moving to a savanna view. That way I can still book the Sunrise Safari and get the experience (however short) of concierge. You may think about doing a split stay since you have such a long trip planned. I'm not sure you will have any luck though since there are very few concierge rooms and your trip is in 2 months. It may be worth calling about though. Good luck!

We are doing a split stay in October. First 5 nights Jambo Concierge and next 3 nights Kidani SV. I called at exactly 11 months out and confirmed. I called 3 days later to change the dates to one week earlier and the concierge room was not available for any of the dates. Don't know if this is the norm, but we are keeping what we have and feel lucky to secure the Concierge nights we have. Coming from the west coast and not renting a car, I put a high value on the food/beverage offerings of the lounge. I am really looking forward to both villa experiences.:)

Give them a call, you never know.:thumbsup2

As already noted, the DVC Concierge units at AKV are only in Jambo House and consist of only 5 2-bedroom lock-offs. At a max, there can be a total of 10 DVC Concierge rooms (5 Studios & 5 1-Bedrooms).

thanks for the input!! I didn't realize it was only available at Jambo. I think we will stick with our Kidani room for now and save the concierge for another time. Thanks again!
