Arriving in a few days...:cool1:...anyone know how to override the a/c to turn off the motion sensor? I believe it's a different model than SSR. TIA!!

Press the power button and the down arrow button simultaneously. The letters "bp" should appear in the display indicating you are in "bypass" mode. Then you can use the up/down buttons to set the temperature. You may have to do this every 24 hours or every few days.

The sensor by-pass for our kind of thermostat was simple--I just pressed the "off" button and both the temperature "up/down" buttons all at the same time. "BP' appears in the thermostat, and then it operates as most other themostats in most other hotels in the US

And yet another:

The thermostat has two buttons on the left (ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN) and two buttons on the right (UP and DOWN)

1) Press the ON/OFF and AUTO/FAN buttons together. The digital display will change to 'CA'.

2) Press the ON/OFF and DOWN button together. The digital display will change to 'OR" (or something similar).

You have just deactivated the motion sensor. This will last for three days at which point you will have to repeat the process.

TO CHANGE AC THERMOSTAT SETTINGS THE THERMOSTAT HAS TO BE PUT INTO "SERVICE MODE" IT IS SIMPLE TO DO BY PRESSING THE FOLLOWING KEYS ON THE FRONT OF THE THERMOSTAT.

EXECUTE THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE:

1. PRESS (AND KEEP PRESSED) THE F/C KEY

2. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. PRESS (AND RELEASE) THE DISPLAY KEY.

4. RELEASE THE F/C KEY.

UPON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETING THIS SEQUENCE, THE LCD WILL DISPLAY PAR (PARAMETER) AND THE PARAMETER NUMBER.

1. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL # 6 APPEARS. (NEW MODELS # 24)

2. PRESS THE OFF/AUTO KEY

3. THE CURRENT LOW TEMPERATURE IS DISPLAYED.

4. PRESS THE DOWN ARROW KEY AND SCROLL UNTIL THE DESIRED ROOM
TEMPERATURE APPEARS
5. PRESS THE F/C KEY

You're welcome! I just did a cut and paste from an answer I received here when we were at Kidani and roasting to death in our villa. I don't remember which it was but I think it was the last option that worked at Kidani for resetting the temp.

or you can do it my way - call maintence - they had no problems in changing the system.

they also say it would not last - don't remember if it 2 or 3 days?

Does anyone know if this will work at OKW? I hear the new thermostats in the refubed units are a pain and do not regulate well...

Thanks!

FYI - the patio/balcony door are also connected to the HVAC system, a slightly open door will keep the HVAC from working.

The thermostats at OKW (and some of the other resorts, including Aulani and the Treehouse villas) are SensorStat. They are easier to set the override. Simply press and hold the F/C button on the right side of the unit until the display says b/p (for bypass). This needs to be done once every 24 hours. One other thing - when you press the F/C button the display will switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius. You will need to press it once (quickly) again to switch it back to whichever you prefer.

I want to resurrect this old thread, and thank everyone profusely for their help. This trick for the thermostat made all the difference at our Kidani stay (also you-tubed the VIP mode override which was easy and effective). It's a new must-do Disney for July vacations :)

Giving this a bump because it may be the most important thread on the internet when you check into your room and it’s hot (74ish and humid) and the stay reads 68.
Disboards for the win

But wait... doesn’t Disney do this to battle global warming?
Disney does it to reduce costs.
I’m not saying if global warming is real or not. Look back at predictions some scientist have made in the 70’s 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s. See how accurate the predictions were. Make your own decision.

Lol!!! I guess I forgot to use the laughing smiley. :teeth:

Doctors also used to recommend smoking cigarettes. Just because the consensus now is that it is bad for you, doesn't mean they are wrong now. It just means that the added collection of information has increased accuracy.
