I just read on the Disney Parks mom panel that Disney considers your age at check in your age for the whole trip so you should be good!

Is she a child the 1st day of use or if you stay on property, check in day? It is based on the child's age when the vacation starts.

We went when our oldest DS turned 10 in 2013. His birthday was in the middle of our trip. We purchased a child ticket for him and it wasn't a problem at all. He even wore a shirt on his birthday that said "It's my 10th birthday!"

Nope. "You don't age at Disney" .. whatever age your child is the day of check-in is the age they are considered the whole trip.

I started our vacation (on purpose) to the MK the DAY before my son turned 3 to fully take advantage of him still being free.
We were never even questioned or asked about his age at the parks even though he wore a Magic Band (just because he wanted to wear one).

The only issue I had was at our meal at Trail's End Restaurant ( a buffet). The server assumed (correctly) that my son was 3 (it was his birthday the day before) and charged him for the buffet. I asked him if we still had to pay since he was 2 at the beginning of our trip and for all other purposes (park tickets) he has been considered an infant (and thus free). He corrected my bill and that was that.

Besides the price difference between a child and adult ticket is so minimal, Disney isn't really going to press the issue and upset guests. (As I am sure there are tons of families that stretch this rule and "sneak" in their kids that are 10-11 as children.).
