Kid Supervision at water areas

:wave2: We are taking our first cruise next spring, and we are wondering about the supervision for the kids especially around the pools, and CC. Our DD will be 9 (not too little) and can swim fairly OK. My DH and I would love to go to the adults only pool and beach on CC but have concerns about the supervision. Can anyone tell me about their experiences?
Thanks,

The kids clubs do not go to the pool on the ship or to the beach at CC. Our 9yo son was OK going to the Goofy pool with his buddies but one of us was near the Mickey Pool with our DD so he could check in.

Hope this helps!

There is a CM at the Mickey Pool to monitor but there are NO LIFEGUARDS at the pools. We supervised our little ones the entire time in the Mickey Pool. I can't speak for the Goofy Pool.

At CC there are lifeguards.

The kids clubs do not take the kids to the water at CC and except for a pool party that would be scheduled - 10-12 year olds, I think.

Although CC has lifeguards, I wouldn't leave a nine year old unsupervised there. There are ALOT of people in the water moving around.

The kids club is open on the island, it is away from the beach.

I agree with what everyone has said here.

However, if your kids enjoy the clubs/labs, you will be able to enjoy the adult beach and pool while they are in the kid's programs. What you can't do (not sure if you meant to do this, or people just assumed you did) is leave your kids unattended at the pools. I will say that there were kids in the lab with my kids who went by themselves to the goofy pool. We saw one pair of brothers (9 and 11 or so) everytime we took the kids to the goofy pool, and their parents were nowhere around (They were near our dinner table, so I knew what their parents looked like). These boys were constantly roughhousing in the pool, and whenever it got bad, we just left. I did think about saying something to their parents at dinner, but decided against it.

Thanks to all who answered! I really didn't know how the kid's club worked. I thought they took them to the water. Since that is not the case, I feel lots better. Does anyone have kid's who loved the kid's clubs? Is it true that you have a hard time getting them to leave?
Thanks,

If your kids are like most, you'll have to drag them out of the clubs. Sociable kids make friends easily in that environment, and because they are safe and professionally supervised, they quickly realize Mom and Dad aren't a priority. It's all about entertainment, play and learning - what better environment for a kid? It's camp, without the undesirable parts.

To only be a kid again and sail DCL ::yes::

My kids enjoyed the clubs, but didn't need to spend every waking moment there. After all, there were the pools, and the shows, and the character greets and the dinners and the excursions and the beach and hanging with mom and dad.
