Kid shoes - Crocs?

We've been wearing our snow boots so long I don't even know if the kids' shoes fit any longer. I was thinking of buying crocs - for all the kids - for our February trip. Do these tend to work out okay for kids? Trying to decide because I'd need to order by mail.

Personally, I'd never wear anything but tennis shoes to DLR. There is so much walking, we want a shoe that stays on our feet, does not give blisters, and allows you make a good stride. However, I know lots of people wear them to DLR. If your kids are used to wearing them all the time, then maybe they would be fine. We just would never even think of wearing anything but a good walking shoe. Whatever shoes you use, have your kids wear them around for a while and talk some walks in them to make sure they will work. :)

Oh, just saw you said Feb trip. The weather may be cool all day or not, but likely cold mornings and evenings. So, you may want to consider if their feet would be cold. Keep in mind, I'm coming from the point of view that anything under 60 is cold. If it is a day that stays below 60 here, I'm wearing my "snow" boots to work.

I ordered DD and I some crocs for our Feb trip too. That was after I read some really good reviews on here about them. We will test them out first and go from there.

Good point about the walking shoes. We may still get crocs but they'd be a back-up shoe. I wish I knew in advance what the weather was going to be - last time we were there in Feb. and it was pretty cold in the mornings and evenings, even for us (and we're used to the cold!) - plus it rained one of the days. Another reason to pack 2 pair of shoes per person.

Ya, we will be bringing both unless we both hate the crocs. But I always pack a few extra pairs of shoes for DD and I

Our last 2 trips, all of us wore nothing but crocs the entire time, and loved them. No complaints from the kids at all. We brought runners as well, but never even put them on. I even convinced my husband to buy a pair, and he loved them too! :-)

A lot of people love Crocs. My children hated them. I bought them for them one summer and they both really detested them and only wore them in the backyard...and still complained about them! Definitely try them out before you go anywhere.

I am a total Nike Cross Trainer guy. I love my Nikes - from my golf shoes to my running shoes.

However, a couple years back, my wife bought me a pair of crocs to wear around the house when I need to take the gabage out, get the mail, or water the lawn. They are not the most stylish things (for me they look a bit "clumpy"). But I tell you that when I took them with me to DLR two years ago, they are now just like my toothbrush - always packed without question.

I thought I would only wear them to the pool or to White Water Snacks for a quick chicken nacho...Nope...I started wearing them to the park. It is nice to mix it up a bit and give my feet a break.

I know I look like a tourist, but hey, I really don't care what other people think - and I am a tourist when I am there. All I know is I am comfortable and I like the change-up it provides.

Hope you all have fun!

Last spring/summer my nephew (2 at the time, almost 3 now) had a little pair of crocs he wore pretty much all the time. They had a strap across the back so he couldn't walk out of them. They seemed like a good pair of shoes, we went to Grand Cayman for a week (Amazing. Go. Go now!) running around town, going to beaches in the hot and humid weather and he never had a problem. They forgot to pack him another pair so it's a good thing they worked out well :)

...crocs..ds9 has to be convinced in the fall to put his crocs away when the snow falls.

On our last trip the kids wore crocs exclusively , no blisters, no sore feet and on cooler days they simply wore low cut socks.

I have ordered up new ones for our trip. I see in the last few days there are new disney ones out too with the mickey silhouette..

DD often wears crocs when we visit DLR - I love my Croc flip flops ~ they're my preferred shoe at DLR, DS doesn't wear 'em ~ I think it's a "he's too cool for them" thing :cool1: :lmao:

Unless it is really cold, my kids almost always wear Crocs to DL. We live in Southern California though and they re used to wearing Crocs or flip flops year round. I probably wouldn't have them wear any shoes that are really broken in well. It will be a long trip if their feet hurt.
