Hubby and I just booked out first kid-free Disney trip for this September. We've done all the usual kid stuff a million times, so what should we be sure to do this time?

So far we're going to surf at TL and do the Wild Africa Trek at AK, plus plenty of time to walk around and eat at Epcot, but I would love more suggestions!

We're doing a ton of signature dining and all the stuff my kids won't sit through: parades, fireworks, all the night shows. We're also able to schedule late dinners, which is nice!

If you like fine dining I would highly recommend Victoria and Albert's. It is expensive and hard to get in but it was the finest meal that we ever had when we went for our kid-free 25th anniversary trip. If you haven't done One Man's Dream at DHS it is very interesting. We tried it once with the kids but they were not patient enough. I really liked it. I am a trivia buff. And you're right, the World Showcase at night is our favorite thing to do. Cheers!!!

Allow me to second the fine dining idea, and to add my approval of Victoria & Albert's! I'd also suggest going to a bar. I'm looking forward to trying out Trader Sam's with my DH this coming trip. I'd also suggest mini-golf, taking time to actually munch/drink your way around the World Showcase, and actually taking the time to enjoy Disney transportation (though, not the busses so much).

DH and I did our first adult only trip last December.
We drank around the world in Epcot (got way past tipsy but with no minor around it was a-ok)
We went on one of the tours that is 13+ only (Holiday D-Lights in our case)
We actually rode rides together vs. one of us with DGD and one alone
It was a blast and we are going to plan another trip for just us here soon.

DH & I have done a no-kids trip, and have another this fall during which we'll hit F&W. We have had leisurely dinners in places that our then-young children wouldn't have enjoyed at the time, gone to a concert at House of Blues, hung out at the bar at Raglan Road, and just basically took the whole trip at our own pace.

Enjoy!

Do a monorail crawl to the resorts and their bars/pubs. Do a wine tasting crawl in Epcot. Germany and Italy offer wine flights to taste and France offers tastings.

Enjoy! We took our first adult only trip in March '14 and we had a great time. Without doing anything special, we just found we were able to take our time and do the things we wanted to without any complaints or compromise. It was so wonderful!

We just got back from an 8 night kid free trip and it was wonderful! We stayed up late, slept in and just did whatever we wanted. We ate at four signature restaurants. My parents met up with us for a few days so my husband and dad went golfing while my mother and I had tea at Grand Floridian. We also did Wild Africa Trek which was awesome!

We always go alone (no kids here!) - do all the things they won't normally do, and then everything they would too for good measure. ;)

I was going to suggest V&A and Trader Sam's as well. There's also the bars and restaurants in DTD, like the Boathouse, Morimoto, and the Hangar. A fireworks cruise could be very romantic for just 2. There's also the horse drawn carriage at POR.

There are some great discussions about this on this topic on the Adults and Solos board too- it's worth checking out some of the stuff there! :) Enjoy your first child-free trip! :)

Looking forward to our first adult only trip...married 35 years and still have 22 and 27 year olds at home! made lots of foody reservations, V & A chef's table and am hoping to get some good stuff reserved at food and wine fest! not sure what we're gonna talk about though, never been away from kids for more then 2 days at a time! I'm sure we'll have fun...so will you!

We plan on spending lotssss of time at Food & Wine. Honestly, I'm really excited about exploring WS a bit more without lugging around a stroller. And being able to stay in the parks late (I hate keeping DD up late).

And we're doing a couple signature restaurants and restaurants that we know DD wouldn't touch anything at.
