Kid Book Recommendations

Another BIG vote for all the Henry and Mudge books. Isabella loved each and every one and she was princessy at six.

Junie B? I know lots of little girls love 'em but there are things in the books that didn't make my hit parade - like the Disney characters being people in costumes. I'm embarrassed to say I 'banned' that one. And most girls read Junie B at 7 or so I think. I'm no prig (We read all the Walter the Farting Dog books ) but June B's precociousness was just too much for me at times.

First Flight early readers like "Mermaid in the Bathtub", "So Long Stinky Queen" and "No Frogs for Dinner" are a hit with some of the readers about your daughter's age.

Bob, have you guys discoverd Hank The Cowdog, yet? Absolutely hilarious read, and there are a bunch on CD/tape at the library.

I haven't heard of them yet, but I'll look for them soon. We're always looking for new books for DS as well -- he'll read anything he can get his hands on.
