Kick'n It at Kidani (aka Am I Becoming a Resort Snob?)Final Update 8/20 p.54

I bet there are some moments when you wish you could...

I wonder how may points I'd get for the three of them?????

Yikes! I noticed the same thing in our regular room -- I would turn the bathroom light on to be able to see -- of course my family sleeps so soundly I probably could have turned on every light and they never would have noticed.

By the end of the week even I was able to sleep late. My internal wake up clock got completely surpressed!

I agree -- we love it, but it is over much too soon.

Why didn't they had another few thousand yards to this - what were they thinking!

Rude people get all over me -- and this not being separated from their fearless leader (:rotfl: I loved Rocky and Bullwinkle growing up so I laughed out loud when I read that) really annoys me. Wait until you hear my Wildlife Express story. :headache:

At first I thought that maybe there was a language barrier, but that was clearly not the case. Can't wait to hear your story!

You have some great photos from Animal Kingdom! :goodvibes

Thanks!

We were at AK that day, as well! Maybe we caught each other in our pictures. We could have even been at the EE fastpass machines at the same time! Wow, that's so cool.

About CS, did you get a redone room? They're so much prettier than the previous rooms.

I like starting my trips at either AK or MK. Since space mountain was down, I decided to start at AK. Curious to know what rides you did that day.

I did get a reburb'd room at CSR. It was lovely, but after that villa it just felt crowded and we messed it up in 3 seconds flat. Lesson to self - always go to villa last! I have some interesting tales to tell re: the teens in their room, but you will have to wait!

Good Morning MEK!!!

Once again great pictures!! Don't you just love Animal Kingdom I know I do!!! Glad you and LJ had fun on Kali and Dinosaur. It's been awhile since I have been on Kali might have to give that a try this fall!!!

Ewww...to rude people...I don't usually mind either but at least have the curtesy to say excuse me...glad you didn't let it get to you too much, too much fun was to be had!

Can't wait to hear more and if LJ conquered EE!!!

I think my problem with AK is that I don't spend enough time in Asia...maybe nex time I go I should focus on Asia and that area instead of the Africa area. Hmmm. Anyhoo! I really like your AK Asia pictures. I also have to tell you that on my Sept. trip that there are not PM EMH's at AK and I am very sad about that. I really want to go to AK at night.

Morning Jen! Thanks for the compliment on the pictures. I took no tree of lie pictures, but plenty in Asia! I'll post about EE tonight when I can add the pics!

Morning LL! Whaaaaaaat????? No AK EMH's while you are there in September? That stinks. You guys are going to have such a blast and I can't believe that everyone is going the last week of September when I absolutely can not go!

I learned that Asia is very photogenic when I saw all of Paula's pics from one of her TR's. So now I try to take as many pictures as I can over there!

Looks like I am in need of an update.......

So when I left off DH, LJ, and I were riding Dinosaur. We had some nice people in our rover who were on their first visit and this was the first time on Dinosaur. I think they liked it! ;)

After Dino we walked past primeval whirl and the line was still too long. What's up with that?????? I read Glendamax's TR and she said she waited an hour for that ride during EMH, so I'm not exaggerating! The line looked to be the same length.

Fortunately our EE FP's would come due in about 10 minutes, so we headed back through Asia to conquer the Yeti. On our way to EE we saw a very, very long line forming for Nemo. I love the Nemo show and I was disappointed that the first show didn't start until 11am. If it had been a 10am start I would have been there. But in actuality, I don't think LJ would have been crazy about it. He would have liked it, but not loved it.

We got right on EE from the FP line. This intrigued LJ to the point that he began asking lots of questions about FP's including, "Why doesn't everyone use them?" "Don't know LJ, don't know....but that means more for us". :confused3

I sat with LJ and DH sat with some cute guy. Once the train had left the station I had some momentary doubts about LJ. I began to wonder "what if he gets freaked out in the dark, spining backwards". Oh well, too late to worry now. Weeeeeeeeeeee! Before I knew it we were up the lift hill and taking our first decent to the Yeti. When LJ wasn't laughing he was screaming, "AWESOME, AWESOME!" This totally made me smile and laugh out loud! Success! LJ loved it! :woohoo::love::woohoo:

Here is LJ after conquering the Yeti!

I love the flowers on this plant...... Very cool.......

After EE it was about 11am so we headed over to get Safari FP's. I asked LJ if he was starting to get hungry to which he emphatically said, "YES"! I like to eat early at the parks cause I hate waiting in lines, but this was even a little early for me. Ah, what the heck, why not eat now, I thought. So we got our Safari FP's with a return time of 12pm and set out for Pizzafari. I always eat here - why - cause its inside, air conditioned, and quick counter service. The operative description here being AIR CONDITIONED!!!!!! I really want to eat at the Y&Y counter service, but not when its hot. I do not enjoy eating outside in the heat!

On the way to Pizzafari I stopped at the first aid area to get some Motrin for DS16 whose leg (stress fracture) was still bothering him. I packed a million OTC meds - benadryl, tylenol, claritin, hydrocortisone, neosporin, but I forgot the Motrin. Here is a picture DH took of me waiting in line...... Note the look of disgust....... My DH takes some strange pics.......but now you know what the first aid station looks like.

Here's LJ enjoying a pizzafari lunch.....

Here is a pizzafari light fixture:

After lunch we headed to safari:

Once we were on safari we let LJ handle the camera. We have so many safari pictures that I just wanted to sit back and watch the animals instead of capturing their digital images. Unfortunately we were in the back row and its almost impossible to take pictures back there due to the bouncy, bouncy!

Your AK pics are great! :thumbsup2 I love the smiles on LJ's face! They show how much fun he was having!!

MEK --

Great pics! What size room did you have at Kidani? We have 8 adults and 2 infants going with us in November and only have a 2 bedroom villa. Do you think we'll have enough room or will it be REALLY crowded? One of the infants is mine and even since becoming a new mother, I'm just not into "sharing" hotel rooms much anymore. We'll be going with DH's family which are great, but with an almost 14 month old, I'm not sure how "cozy" I want to be after spending all day in the parks. :rotfl2:

GREAT update!! I love that LJ thought EE was "awesome!" He must think you and your DH are gods for this trip! My nieces and nephew are older, 16, 14 and 12, but I can't wait to take them in January!!!

I love the picture of you in the first aid station! LOL! I didn't know what the one in AK looked like! :rotfl: But I have used the one in HS to get motrin for DS6 when he was sick on our trip in 08 and still unwilling to admit it although he was hot to the touch! I was truly suprised they didn't charge me for the motrin! Woohoo! Nothing is free at WDW!

Can't wait to read more and find out if the teenager ever got out of bed!!!

Go LJ, Go LJ :woohoo: Way to tame that Yeti!

So far you have had just about the perfect morning at AK! LJ's pics of KS aren't half bad!

I just LOVE that LJ had such a great time! Me thinks his parents are going to be in trouble with him as he gets older. ;)

Thanks for the picture of the First Aid station! :thumbsup2

He totally had a great time! That backward spin in the dark did not phase him one bit!

We had a 2BR villa. It sleeps 9. If you and your DH and your 14 month old take the MBR you will be comfortable. That room is big and you will have room for a pack n play. That would leave 4 adults in the other bedroom (2 queen size beds) and 2 adults would have to sleep on the pull out sofa or sleeper chair. The other infant could sleep anywhere, although I think there is only one pack n play. Yeah - that's alot of grown people in the villa. It will be a tad crowded, but manageable. They key is for YOU to get the MBR. We had 6 people total and that was definately manageable.

Your pictures are awesome!

I am so glad that LJ loved EE! WOOO HOOOO!! :woohoo:

Loved it with a capital 'L'. Hey, how'd you like that light fixture I through in there for you? I am trying to slowly feed your addiction!

GREAT update!! I love that LJ thought EE was "awesome!" He must think you and your DH are gods for this trip! My nieces and nephew are older, 16, 14 and 12, but I can't wait to take them in January!!!

Yes - that's me - Goddess Aunt Mary Ellen! :worship::worship::worship:

I have now visited every first aid station except the one at HS. I know the drill...
Me:"Could I have two motrin please?"
Them: "Are they for your?"
Me:"Yes"
Them:"Here's two for now and two for 6 hours later. Please sign the book".
Me:"Thanks. Have a magical day".

Yes - they are free! You can get Tylenol, too. They ask, "extra strength or regular?" LOL

Oh, the teenagers DID get out of bed. I'll have to tell you about that text message!

Go LJ, Go LJ :woohoo: Way to tame that Yeti!

So far you have had just about the perfect morning at AK! LJ's pics of KS aren't half bad!

LJ brought that darn Yeti to his knees! Actually, DH ended up taking some of the safari pictures. It just got too darn bouncy and LH was having trouble keeping the camera steady, but he sure gave it a go!

I just LOVE that LJ had such a great time! Me thinks his parents are going to be in trouble with him as he gets older. ;)

Thanks for the picture of the First Aid station! :thumbsup2

Oh he really had a great time! He is such pleasure. His three younger brothers are a hand full, so sometimes he is a like a mini adult.

Yeah - who takes a picture of the first aid station other than my DH? I know he was going for a rear end shot, that's why I turned around and looked at him like that! One trip all he did was take pictures of my a$$ and put them on the wide screen TV. I lost 15 lbs after that.

Hi there! We overlapped a couple of days on our trips this month. I'm subbing and can't wait to go back and read.....

and yes, I think CP is stalling, laughing, and watching the fireworks.......:rotfl2:

The line was 40 minutes long one morning at AK when Chelsea and Connor insisted on doing it.

I sat with LJ and DH sat with some cute guy.

You know I totally had to go back and look at your ride photo to check out the cute guy!

Here is LJ after conquering the Yeti!

That grin says it all! Way to go, LJ!

I always eat here - why - cause its inside, air conditioned, and quick counter service. The operative description here being AIR CONDITIONED!!!!!!

Pizzafari won the coveted Animal Kingdom counter service award for us for that very reason -- air conditioning!

This is valuable information to know!!! Thanks!

I know he was going for a rear end shot, that's why I turned around and looked at him like that!

Reason Number Fifteen why Charles is not allowed to carry the camera! He would so being doing things like that! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

Great update! I cant wait to read more. We took our nephew on our trip this summer too, though he is only 3 lol. Big age difference, but he had a ball and it was wonderful to see disney threw his eyes as well. I cant wait to go back in Jan and reading your TR just gets me that much more excited.

Welcome wigdoutdismom! I'm so happy to have you following along! I love your TR report so far. Glad we found each other!

Yes.....CP is stalling, unless she updated today. I have been too busy to check!

The line was 40 minutes long one morning at AK when Chelsea and Connor insisted on doing it.

Uggghhhhhh! Why? Why? That ride is fun, but NOT that fun!

You know I totally had to go back and look at your ride photo to check out the cute guy!
Yeah - until I saw the ride photo I thought DH sat with a teenage girl. What was I thinking?

That grin says it all! Way to go, LJ!
I second that! :thumbsup2

Pizzafari won the coveted Animal Kingdom counter service award for us for that very reason -- air conditioning!

I used to like Tusker House for that reason, but they went and made it a darn TS. :confused3

This is valuable information to know!!! Thanks!
They will also take you back to your resort from the first aid center, if you are too ill to drive! :sick:I found that out back in 2007 when I got sick at MK and they offered me a ride back to my resort!

Reason Number Fifteen why Charles is not allowed to carry the camera! He would so being doing things like that! :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
If I posted all the A$$ shots my DH took this trip, you would die! :rotfl:

Wow. that was nice of you, considering you have quite a group to handle yourself! It is just so magical to see Disney through a child's eyes. I regret that I did not take my kids sooner. I just didn't know any better.
