I know I saw a link about this, but can't find it now..

But I just went and took (and passed) the test, and the next step is to put in all my info to get started.

But some major red flags just went up for me when they asked for my SSN and my bank acct #... is this info really needed?

Who has been doing work through this company? Any problems? How much do you get paid on average each day (and for how many hours?).

Would love to find an easy way to get a little bit of extra money here, and thought a WAH thing would be perfect since my dd's are in school all day (and me being here alone), then I go to work 2nd shift while dh is home with them.

My wife does some mystery shopping jobs, they all pay her either through PayPal or send a check, there is no way on Earth she would give them that kind of info.

I did KGB for a couple of months and gave them that information (they need it to pay you and for tax information). I had no problems with them, they paid when they said they would, however, it didn't pay enough to be worth my time.

Thanks for the quick reply.. decided I'm not willing to take the chance at this company... might be a totally legitimate company, but to ask for those 2 pieces of info right off the bat, I'm just not willing to take that chance.

Wish there was something I could do during these mornings that I really just sit around, :confused3

The mystery shopper thing sounds neat, but I'm not much of a shopper, and don't like dealing with crowds that much, lol!!

theres another thread roaming around here about this and its a legit company, some people just open up a separte account if they are leery but fyi its legit and you shuldnt have a problem.

I've been doing work for Bestmark and MarketForce for a while now, but they are very large, reputable companies so I had no qualms about giving them my SS#. They didn't need a bank account number until I decided to switch from getting paper checks to direct deposit.

MarketForce is my favorite as they have lots of shops in my area and I usually make around $75/month with them doing fairly easy things such as grocery store shops, fast food evaluations (can get fattening so it takes some willpower to just take a few bites without snarfing down the entire meal! :lmao: ), car oil changes, and a few other random shops. Some of the pay is reimbursement for money spent while other times it's reimbursement plus a shop fee added on. I like the grocery store shops as it's a flat $10 reimbursement so I schedule them for once a week, clip my coupons, do the shop and figure I'm getting a $10 rebate in a few weeks. They pay once/month, same time every month.

Bestmark took several months to get going as they don't offer a lot in my area but it's a few dollars here and there for fairly easy work.

I work full time and only schedule what I can do during my lunch break or on days when I know DH can watch the kids for an hour as most shops require you to be by yourself or, rarely, with one other adult (some restaurant shops).

I'd recommend them both as companies to consider. One thing you do need to keep in mind that you have to have the ability to scan in your receipts (or take a clear digital photo) to upload to the company website within 8-12 hours after your shop and also answer the survey forms online so computer access is a must.

I think it's fun and it brings in a little spending cash. :goodvibes

KGB is a legit company. I worked for them and now work for ChaCha. Like a PP said they need that info for tax purposes. I made about the same working for both KGB and ChaCha but I like the layout of ChaCha better (although the quality of question is better through KGB, not as many teenagers asking the most disgusting questions). I'm now an Expeditor for ChaCha (I do quick answers or edit the question into the right format to be sent to a Specialist [who does the research] which takes about 15-45 seconds each depending on how badly the question was texted in and I make $.03 per question [Specialists make more per question but it takes longer to answer questions and you don't get the constant flow like you do an Expeditor; KGB you make $.10 per question]). I do it for half an hour to an hour every night while I watch TV and make about $3-4 an hour. It's not much and I don't know if I could sit there and do it for hours (I have a daytime full time job as well) and you have to take your own taxes out, but it's an easy $100 extra a month.

LOL any job you get you are going to have to give them out that info.Social security is for Taxes and bank account is so you can get paid.

I work for ChaCha and can tell you that KGB is a real company

I also work for KGB. They need your soc sec number for tax purposes and the bank account number is to pay you. I have been working for them for about 5 months or so, and so far so good! We get paid like clockwork every month. You can definitely make some money doing it, if you put the time in.

BTW..if you are looking to do it during the day KGB isn't really a good fit. You will make some..maybe $2 an hour? It's up to you if that's worth your time. But KGB's busy times are evenings and DEFINITELY weekends. I actually don't even bother with weekdays any more and just do weekends, last month I did 28 hours and made just shy of $100..that's about $4 an hour.
