Has anyone done this tour? What did you think? Was reading it is a 4 hour tour and wondered about pricing. Any help would be great.
Thanks! :)

I took the tour a couple of years ago. I used either my dvc card or ap for a discount. I loved it and learned a lot. Our tour guide was a former Minnie Mouse and she was great!!!

My husband did this tour while I did the segway tour at fort wilderness in Oct 2008. He loved the tour. He had so much to tell me. It gives you another look and perspective of the behind the sceen stuff that you never knew was there.
I alos enjoyed my segway tour and would do it again.

I booked this tour for my trip in august. It was just a little over 100 dollars for two people and included lunch. I got a aaa discount. Everything I have heard sounds great and I can't wait to go on the tour.

DH and I took this tour in January of 2008 -- it was fantastic! The weather was very cold and we shivered a lot - LOL. One of the best perks was the VIP entrances into Pirates and Haunted Mansion!! I'm sure you know, it's pretty much an Adults Only tour. Way too much information for the young ones! Oh, we used the Disney Visa discount, I think it was 20% off each ticket.

We took the tour last September and had a great time. It was very interesting and lunch at Columbia Harbour was great. My wife liked seeing the area in the utilador where cast members choose their pins for trading

I just took the tour with my son and daughter on June 19th. We had been wanting to do this for a couple of years but had to wait for my daughter to turn 16! We had a great time on the tour and learned some interesting history, rode two attractions, and got to see "behind the scenes." We had a great guide and the tour lasted 5 hours. We had a very nice lunch at Columbia Harbor House. The tour was well organized from beginning to end. They had name tags neatly displayed at check in and there was bottled water and coffee to drink. I don't want to say much else because I don't want to give any "secrets" away. I think anyone who is a Disney enthusiast will enjoy this tour.

I don't remember off the top of my head how much the tour cost, but we did book with the annual pass discount which I think is 15%. I booked at exactly 90 days out and my credit card was never billed. They must not run it through until you actually take the tour (or if you don't cancel within the 24 hour allowance) and I haven't gotten a statement since I have been home.

My DH and I want to go on the KTTK tour in Nov. I have heard there is
alot of walking. I have bad back problems but as long as I can sit for a minute it relaxes and I can continue. Would I make it through this tour?

Denise

When we took the tour we had a very considerate tour guide. She was older and certainly knew all about everything. When she wanted to talk for awhile, she made sure that we were standing in the shade, and other times made sure that we could sit down in the shade. There is a lot of walking, but it was nicely broken up that we could sit down at different stages.

DH and I took the tour June 14. We did use our DVC discount but I would have to say that I would pay full price for this as, IMHO, it was well worth every penny! :thumbsup2 We learned so much and I hated for it to end. I can't give many details because they stress that you not give out the backstage secrets. Our guide even made us raise our right hands and swear we would not. You can't take pictures either. They even instruct you to keep cell phones put away.
It lasted about 5 hours and lunch at CHH was included. We also got a keys to the kingdom pin. They give you water and coffee when you check in. It was a lot of walking and it was hot but our guide was great about getting us into shady spots whenever we stopped.
I would NOT recommend this for Disney newbies because it takes a large chunk of your day, and there are some things we learned/saw that someone might not want to know about or see, which is partly why they don't want children on the tour.
For experienced WDW guests it is certainly an educational experience (for the rest of our trip we tried to pay more attention to/spot certain details and to look for the 4 "keys") and I am soooooo glad we did it!:)

My wife took it when she went to Disney in Feb 08 and told me all about it, or all she could remember and she loved it. My wife insisted that I go when we were there in Aug 08. Even after my wife told me everything, I still loved it.

Our tour guide was a nice young lady from Germany. She came over to work at Epcot in Germany and never left. She also worked in Paris Disney and has been to Tokyo Disney. She married another cast member who is a US citizen. She had no accent that I could hear.

I told my wife what we did and she said they didn't do some stuff we did. Apparently the tours aren't exactly the same every time. Seems like it's up to the tour guide.

Everyone wears a radio/ear bud and the tour guide wears a microphone. She turns it off for bathroom breaks. :lmao:

Well worth the $60 or so.

Oh, we used the Disney Visa discount, I think it was 20% off each ticket.

Make sure to emphasize you are using a Disney Visa; my TA booked this tour for me and the total was not discounted. Will have to ask to see if TA can get the 20% refund for me.

I just took the tour with my son and daughter on June 19th.

My credit card was billed when it was booked!! Maybe you received a "pixie dust" discount! pixiedust:

There is a bit of walking, not a lot of standing around. After 6 hours of walking in the August heat my back was a little sore. I met my wife and kids after the tour and they were still raring to go, I just wanted to sit for a while. After a while I felt better but by the end of the day I was beat.

I still loved the tour, though. The next day I was good as new.
Are there any bathroom breaks along this tour? TIA

We had a couple potty breaks, not including the lunch break.
