has anyone done this tour at magic kingdom lately?
heading down to wdw this september and wanted to try something different. i would appreciate any input/reviews. thanks.

smmast,

My mum, brother and I did this tour because we too wanted to do something different and always interested in what makes it go....It was a great tour... i can't remember the name of our guide but he was brilliant - especially being very candid when behind the scenes. Very honest with his answers and info. It is a fair bit of walking - but I loved it.... you will enjoy this....

The Wife did this tour last October while I attended a conference and she had a great time. From what she told me about the tour, I'm quite certain that I would have loved it too. My vote would be to go for it!

Does anyone know what the cost of this tour is now? It really sounds interesting....

Also - how far in advance you would have to book??

Thx!!

When I did it the cost was $55.00 plus admission to MK. If you have park hoppers or something already they can be used for your park admission. That price included a nice lunch.

I did mine in the first part of March and made reservations, via phone the day before while I was at Disney Studios.

I took this tour a couple of years ago (and I'm taking it again in a few weeks). My tour guide was Marion, and she gave us a lot of great information. She had some great stories to tell about her days in a Mickey costume. Going to the utilidors was really interesting. It was neat to see the costume shop, and the hair shop. We even saw characters without their heads on. It was interesting seeing the parade storage area, and the water filtration system for Splash Mountain.

The price of the tour is $59 plus tax. I believe that there is a 15% Disney Club discount for it (or at least there was at one point). It includes lunch at the Columbia Harbour House (I believe you can choose from Chicken strips, a club sandwich, soup in a bread bowl, or a salad). When my friend went last year, they took lunch orders before the tour left, and the lunch was ready when they took their break from the tour.

We did it 2 weeks ago, I loved it. DH and I really thought it was interesting. Best part, we both got great pins at the end of the tour.

We just did the tour on Saturday and it was just incredible. I think of the 5 hour tour, I cried about 3 of it. I was just so excited to be learning so much and hearing the stories. Our guide was Nicole and she was excellent!! We also met up with Brick at lunch time and he was just a riot!!

We totally lucked out and were at City Hall on Friday and called and there were spots available for the next day at 9:30 am which is exactly what we wanted!

We started out on Main Street and worked our way over to Adventureland and rode the Jungle Cruise and then went to Frontierland and talked about Splash got to go backstage for a bit. Then we had lunch at Columbia Harbor House, which was awesome!! Then we rode Haunted Mansion and learned the stories and saw the ring:D Went to Liberty Square, which is my favorite area of the MK so I was so happy!! Then went backstage again and down to the utilidors. Just incredible and we were standing in front of the flagpole just as the 3pm parade was starting.

It was awesome, definatley worth it:D

my brother and myself did the tour just loved it. we will be doing epcot tour next

thanks so much to everyone for all the info. i called this morning and booked it. it worked out to $98 for the two of us, with the dvc discount. can't wait !!

Well I am a little late to this thread but I thought I would just say that I don't think you will be disappointed. We took the Keys tour back in January 2001 and it was worth every penny just to go down in the utilidors - the rest of the tour was just a bonus. :) We really had a great time and we hope to take more tours in the future since we had such a great experience with KTTK.

My wife and I went on the Keys to the Kingdom tour on June 6th this year and we both loved it. Our tour guide was Regina. She used to be in the Entertainment group where she started out as a puppeteer in the former MK Legend of the Lion King show. Later in her career, she played the characters Alice (in Wonderland) and Cinderella. She had so many interesting stories that the tour was over 5-1/2 hours long. When she learned that the long length of the tour was making one of the couples late for an appointment, Regina personnaly drove them to their appointment in a WDW van. One of the highlights of the tour was looking at the Share a Dream Come True floats in their storage area near Splash Mountain. Regina showed us where the "Hidden Walt" (a profile of Walt Disney) was located on each float. We were also able to talk to one of the float drivers for about 10 minutes. This tour was well worth the cost.
