Keys to the Kingdom Tour?

Did this a few years ago and I'm not sure if it's the same now but I believe it was 10% off. I would have done this w/o the discount. One of the best and most interesting things I've ever done at Disney. Lunch is included.
Be prepared to walk and stand a lot though. It's a long day but worth it imo.

Wife and also did this tour last year... With about 8 other people. Was a lot of fun... Great CM gave tour. Lunch was at the Harbour House. We got to go backstage to several locations on Main Street... Saw props and parade items being assembled. We also got to go underground to utilidors under magic kingdom. Lots of walking and lots of interesting info.. Also got to go on a ride without waiting. The special pin they give you is a nice touch too.
I would recommend taking it.. Not sure of the price this year but you do get a DVC discount.

I have taken the tour more than once. It is great. They share so much insight and information on the tour and each time it is different. I would not only recommend it but I would recommend you take it more than once.

Price is going up to $105 and change in October so if your trip is after that you will pay the higher price. It is $89 and change for the new price with the discount (for the beginning of December).

Disney just doesn't believe in single digit increases anymore, do they? Wow!

How much for DVC members and is it worth it?

We did it in May and really enjoyed it. It was $143 and change if I recall for 2 with the DVC discount. You get to select you lunch (from CHH menu) when you check in so that does offset the cost somewhat (plus you get a special pin and a bottle of water). They give you a listening device so you can hear the guide when you are in crowds without him/her having to tell. If you have been to WDW a lot it is neat to do something different and hear some of the back stories and little details of the buildings/attractions plus seeing the backstage areas previously mentioned. We also got to go on the Haunted Mansion and Jungle cruise as well (went in through the exits of both so no wait). I'd recommend the earliest time if you do it (8:30) you can get in early and get some pics on an empty mainstreet before the tour starts plus then you finish earlier.

Wow another price increase-guess I shouldn't be surprised!

We did the tour in 2011. We really enjoyed it. Back then I think we paid $130-ish for two, I believe I got a discount from my Disney Visa or Annual Pass.
Prices keep going up up up. :yo-yo:

I enjoyed the tour but it did take some of the magic out of it for me.

My wife and I took the tour. While there is very little that hasn't been already shown on TV specials about WDW, being in the actual back stage areas and seeing things like the parade vehicles, the pool where they store the water when they drain Splash Mountain, and the huge trash vac building was pretty interesting. The lunch selection was from an abbreviated CHH menu. The lobster roll was not on that menu, although it was on the full CHH menu at the time.

I feel like it is basically losing the discount. I did tell the guy who booked it for me that they should change the website to reflect to correct prices online because they still say $79-99.

My wife and I did it years ago and loved it. Earlier someone posted that it really doesn't show you much more than you could see on a tv special and that is kind of true but the interactive experience of being in something like a utilodors is way cooler than seeing them on tv. We have offered to take our kids now that they are older but they don't want the curtain pulled away from the magic. I found it incredibly interesting and informative, but if you don't think you want to know the behind the scenes science behind the magic just be aware you might have mixed feeling about seeing so much.

I'm almost positive lunch is now at Tomorrowland Terrace which was disappointing to hear since we liked CHH. We did this tour a couple years ago and loved it. One of the all-around best values at WDW.

I have done it twice, once before 9/11 and once after.

The one ore 9/11 we spent much more time walking through the utilidors and seeing things underneath.

Post 9/11 they brought us down, showed us the utilidors, and we came right back up. They said new security procedures barred us from walking through them. It was a disappointment.

That was several years ago so possibly this ban has been lifted??

Bummer. Then the real cost is like $200/pp.

It's very rare for a tour to not require park admission. If there is one it might be the holiday tour that covers the decorating aspect but even it might require it.
