This time next week, I'll be in Disney World :hyper: :hyper: :wave2:

Here's the story: My hubby's birthday is 12/23, so his birthday (unfortunately) gets lost in the mayhem of Christmas. To make up for it, I planned a Keys to the Kingdom tour as a belated gift during this upcoming trip!!

Can anyone give me a quickie summary of the tour? What can we expect?

Thanks!! princess:

You will meet your group at City Hall where you will select your lunch from the Columbia Harbour House Menu. Tour starts with a stroll down Main Street stopping along the way for talk and info. Heads into Tomorrowland and possibly a ride on Buzz. Somewhere along the way you will disappear into the utilidors, where a discussion of the underground workings of MK is discussed. You will also get to go backstage at the end of Frontierland to the area where all of the parade floats are stored. We also rode on Haunted Mansion and Pirates. Lunch will be waiting for your group at CHH where you will all eat upstairs in a specially reserved area. Your guide and an extra will be around to answer questions while you rest and eat. It is a super tour. I've taken it twice and will probably do it again someday. I'd be sure to mention that it is DH's birthday present, even tho it isn't his day. Who knows what might happen.

our tour was slightly different in September.

same begining/stroll up main street...but then we took a left towareds Adventure/Frontier land (took a ride on Jungle Cruise)...then backstage (just before Splash Mt), then to lunch, then to the HM...then offices/utilidors I believe.

I guess it's never the same tour twice! :)

It's a great tour...well worth the money! Enjoy it!

Kim - I did sort of the same thing 4 years ago! DH's 40th birthday was 12/31/99!! We didn't even want to leave the house that night because it was such a madhouse! So I surprised him in July with an Illuminations Cruise.

We're going to try and do this tour as well this trip - DD is FINALLY old enough!

I will also be doing this tour in late April. I am very excited to be using one of my wishes from the Silver plan to do so.

There are some excellent reviews on Deb Will's site, www.allearsnet.com under the Beyond the Parks heading. Just look on the left side bar for Tours. The info is informative without giving too much away.

I opted for the 9:30 a.m. tour on an Extra Magic Hour Thursday. I know the place will be crazy but I thought I would try to arrive at 8 a.m. and enjoy the park before the 9:15 check-in time!

Needless to say, I am very excited.

What a neat idea to surprise your husband like that!

We just did the tour last week and loved it. We didn't get to see the area that the parade floats are kept, but we went on three rides. Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and Pirates. Maybe it depends on the guide you get, as to what you see. Definately worth it!
