We will be visiting Key West on our upcoming Western cruise. Having never been to Key West before I was wondering what some of you would recommend to do with children who are 11 and 9? I am looking for things that do not have to be booked through the cruise lines as an excursion.

We are going to go to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum, and then we are just going to sight see on our own! My 9 year old DD has been wanted to go there for quite a while.

On our first cruise we booked the Key West Trolley on our own. If you book before you go you save a few $ over the price of buying it there and both are cheaper than if you book through DCL. Click here to get to their website. The site also has info on a number of museums etc. We did the Key West Aquarium and the Butterfly Conservatory and loved them both.

Key West being our hometown and 4 generation conchs, I have all kind of information on what to do, where to go and places to STAY AWAY FROM, - the butterfly farm, the aquarium, Ripley's believe it or not are a few places kids enjoy - the lighthouse is another - if you need discount coupons, you can go right there at Mallory Square to the Chamber of Commerce and they are very accommodating to vistors. All their help and information is at no charge. You have a question or a problem, they will help you - make sure you be aware of ALL souvenir shops, they will get ya if they can - make sure you know what you are paying for before you pay and check your receipt before leaving the shops. I am an ol' conch (Konk) and they almost got me for $400.00. Anyhow if I can help further, just give me a call or drop me a note.
Always
Shirley and Norm
