We're just planning on going to the Aquarium and Butterfly Conservatory. We'd also like to see the Southernmost Point.
Can we walk to these? How far of a walk it is? Or should we take the Trolley?

Thanks.

We did the trolley tour in Nov. It was an informative tour. You could walk to the southernmost point but, it would be quite a hike if I remember. It depends on what else you plan on doing...keeping in mind that heat is a factor. The aquarium is very close to the docks and is a short walk. I didn't see the butterfly conserv. so I can't help with that question.

You could walk to the Butterfly Conservatory and Southernmost Point (they are very close to each other). What we did and I think it worked great was to take the trolley but stay on until stop #8 which is the Southernmost Point (about a two block walk). Walked back from there to the Butterflies, then to Hemmingway House, then up Duval street. We got to see lots of the island on the trolley and then only had a one way walk!

fyi...if you want to do the trolley and get off at a point you won't be able to book through DCL...that excursion does not allow passengers to get off until the tour is over. So, the other may be a good option for you.

For all of those still interested - I still have a great deal of information on Key West - discounts coupons etc - there is no cost except to send a SASE to me - it will be returned back to you full of goodies - if you are interested, you can just drop me a note at snelsonbrown@aol.com - Key West is my hometown and this is why I know so much about it

We did the Disney Trolley excursion. You couldn't get off, but it was very informative and worth it (especially for 1st timers). We had plenty of time afterwards to walk around.

we just did butterfly and southern most point last week on our own, we did not book thru dcl what we did was walk overe to where they have tickets for the train and right next to it we took the bone island shuttle it costs 7 dollars and you can hop on/off all day long we got off at the southernmost stop and walked to the butterfly which is 1/2 block you can see it from stop ask driver, the butterfly conservertory just opened 3 months ago and it was wonderful, then we just hopped back onto shuttle and you can go around island if you want or just back to mallory square which was our starting point.you can also buy your tickets to butterfly conservatory with your tickets to bone island shuttle and you get a dollar off butterfly price, so shuttle was 7 dollars and butterffly was 9 dollars with discount.
