DVC Laundry

Since this came out there has been a bunch of conflicting reports most are saying if you use the app/apple/Google pay there isn’t an issue. Debit card are potentially the problem and not credit cards. Sounds like this could just be a lot about noting

DVC laundry rooms should only be for people staying in the DVC villas and studios. Guest services at the resorts should not be sending cash guests from the hotel side of shared resorts to the DVC laundry rooms under any circumstances. If nothing else they should be referring the cash guests to the laundry valet bags in their room's closet.

Is a Visa not a Visa? Do they not issue Visa cards in the rest of the world? I know when I travel abroad they pretty much only take Visa. I wonder why the laundry company can't take a UK-issued Visa card for example. I'm really ignorant about the intricacies of international travel, I guess.

I think the card processing companies handle international card differently, regardless of branding. There may be a international processing/conversion fee that is paid by the vendor, as well as the card holder.

The only time I've had an issue getting a machine when I want to do laundry is when staying in BPK. That goes for DVC and any other timeshare I've stayed at. Granted with most other timeshare systems, they have very few studios compared to DVC so most units have their own laundry. That huge BPK building is all studios and there are only 2 washers. Kidani is a huge resort but many of the villas have laundry so the small laundry room is adequate. I haven't stayed at Polynesian yet.

That is a shame as well. (along with the Poly)

This reminds me of the issue I had with Villas at DLH and Aulani laundry. Both would give you only a small allotment of free washes (on a laundry card or in tokens) per night. I got very upset after nearly a week at VDLH when I was told I could only get two washes and one drier for free on our second to last night which was to be my laundry night before moving on to Hawaii. After some arguing they relented and gave me more. Who washes daily on a longer stay? At Aulani I was prepared because of the previous experience and we just went by the front desk daily and collected laundry tokens.

I do. However 1 we are usually in a 1 bedroom and 2 we have a lot of line dry items that need time to dry.

We were given a card and weren't told about any sort of limit at that point we were just washing DS swim items so they could be packed for when we moved to VGC the next day. That is certainly not acceptable and I would do the member services email thing to report that. Considering the whole tower is DVC it shouldn't be an issue.

When I went to VGC we had to pay for the laundry but then then you go to the front desk to have that amount taken off of your room charges which if you don't charge anything will eventually get refunded to your credit card. I took photos of the charges from the screen ready to show them however they didn't bat an eye when I told them my laundry charges and I had done 4 suitcases of loads on the day before checkout.
