Key West to Old Key West Day 17
Tuesday 27th November

We finished packing and went to Olivias for breakfast. We chose different breakfasts and we both loved what we had. Our server was very chatty and we had a lovely time talking to her.

We had already checked out as Disney had our credit card details so we didnt need to do anything else. We spent the morning by the pool swimming and sunbathing.

Corinna ( Dolphingirl) knew we would be here and she came by for a chat, it was a little sad as we were all flying home today.

Around lunchtime we used the showers and changing rooms before heading to downtown for lunch, the plan being to have a second Holiday sandwich from Earl of Sandwich. However, the place was packed with a massive queue so we decided to give it a miss. We popped into Ghirardellis as they were handing out samples of Peppermint Bark. It would have been rude not too. We had a wander around before heading off to the airport.

When we got back to the airport wed driven 1,235 miles which was a new Florida holiday record for us.

We checked the luggage in and they were fine about the case being just over the weight limit.
Theresa was selected to have her hands wiped and analysed, I don know if they were looking for drugs or explosives but they let her go anyway.

Once through to airside we decided to have a meal at The Outback Steakhouse. Theresa had chicken fingers and loaded jacket and I had the sirloin sandwich with cheesy fries.

It was a very nice meal.
We bought a couple of bottles of duty free, Southern Comfort for me and Makers Mark for Callum.

The time went very quickly and we were soon boarding. We were on one of the new planes with the 2-4-2 configuration. The food was pretty awful and we were very glad wed eaten at the airport.

We arrived at Gatwick on time and Matt was there to pick us up. He had us home within an hour and we gave him his pants!

Our favourite and not so favourite bits of this trip.
Favourite:
1. Meeting Jim, Cat & Cadance at Key West
2. The lovely view from our balcony at anchorage resort.
3. Fishing in the Keys.
4. Watching the sunset every evening in the keys.
5. The pelicans -Theresa loves them.
6. Feeding the Tarpon at Robbies.
7. Shopping in the sales.
8. Watching the new show on the castle at MK.
9. No Way Jose at Beaches and Cream
10. Bok Tower.
11. Candlelight Processional.
12. Lots of lovely meals.
Not so good
1. Washing the Satnav.
2. The jet lag - the worst we have ever experienced we were so tired for the whole of the 1st week.
As you can see our likes far outnumber our dislikes and that is how a good holiday should be. :thumbsup2
