Has anyone tried this Excursion? Need help in deciding if I should do this excursion or not.

Thanks

My mom and I went on the excursion in July. It was fine...the sloop was nice, that said...there was a promise of drinks and snacks on board. They offered wine, beer and sodas which was fine. The "snacks" were a scoop of Key Lime Pie Ice Cream. If I had known that I would have been prepared (brought my own). We had the late seating and got back in time to have dinner (got back about 10 minutes after the start). With the earlier seatings for dinner that won't be possible and you will have to figure out how to get dinner that evening....not impossible just so you know. Also, those with the early seating don't have a dining room option at all that night. I would probably do this excursion again because I enjoyed the sailing that we did and the sunset was pretty. I did fill out a comment form while on board with these issues so maybe there will be some changes made.....somebody who has gone since the July 6th cruise may be able to let you know.

Thanks for the response - we do have the early seating for dinner - so that was one of the concerns I had - if this excursion was worth missing a dinner in the dining room.

Lisa - did you use Key Cat for your excursion? Shelly is awesome about her excursion so it sure not better be her shop - let me know and if it wasn't Key Cat which is right there at Mallory Square is great for their knowledge, honestly and responsible people - if you mention that I recommended them - they will give you a nicer discount - also to make sure they do - I have their business card that I can send anyone interested in ANY type of water sports, tours etc.
Have a great weekend everybody

We actually signed up for the excursion through DCL. And as I said it was fine but would have been that much better if I had known all the parameters......as far as missing dinner in the dining room - we were on the PLAPLAP rotation so we would have missed the first dinner in Lumiere's. It is a casual night, the second night, and our head server said come straight from your excursion. My mom and I quickly changed into somewhat nicer clothes.....

I still can do better as far as saving monies in Key West and at no cost on my part - I believe going through DCL is a heck more monies - call I need is an email and I will help. Take care and have a great weekend.

Shirley,

We know better for next year now.........we sail again in December 2003....I will be hooking up with you for Christmas surprises (we sail the week of the 20-27) and other Key West Information.

Thanks,

Lisa

We went on this in June and it was nice. The sailing was fun. They had an accordian player on board but he was preoccupied talking to some lady. It was actually rather amusing to watch. I believe he did get in trouble by the Captain because the lady went up to the Captain and apologized and said it was her fault because she kept talking to him. The Captain was rather torked over it because he said the guy was there to entertain ALL the guests, not just her. The guy played a few songs, let he dove go and went back to talking to the lady again. Wonder if the guy still has a job?

We also had the late dinner and got back a few minutes late but we made it. I think I would do it again.
