OK, all you recent Key West cruisers...............

Where is the BEST place to get a piece of Key Lime Pie?

Are there any other "foods not to be missed when in Key West"?

THANKS!
Fran

Well the OBVIOUS answer to *me* is...a Cheeseburger in Paradise at Jimy Buffett's Margaritaville store/restaurant!!! :smooth: :teeth: ;)

But that is just this ParrotHead's opinion! Conch chowder is a Key West must as well as grouper sandwiches. Can't offer specific places to get those but I'm sure you'll find someone to. Seafood is your best "can't get anywhere else" bet.

Cheeseburger!Cheeseburger!Cheeseburger!

The Bingo Queen recommended "Carolines" on Duval Street.
When you get on Duval Street from the ship make a right - its on the right hand side of the street. Out door patio. HUGH portions. Try the popcorn shrimp -- WONDERFUL. They have black bottom key lime pie -- it was to die for.

Next time we go to KW, you can bet we won't miss it.

Leaving in May for the relocation cruise. :bounce:

Key Lime Pie? You have to try them all. If you just want one piece, try the Blonde Giraffe.
For Fish sandwiches, try the BO fish wagon.
Pepe's is a great place also. Carolines is good. The Blue Heaven is a good change of pace.
As a parrothead, I go to Margaritaville for a drink and atmosphere. The cheeseburger is not paradise. Overpriced and not the best.
Definitely not enough time to see everything!

There's a great Key Lime Pie on a stick place by Kino's, Half Shell is among my favorite at KW, but a bit of a walk from the port

Food in Key West...

We love to get some fresh oysters (or the fresh seafood appetizer platter) at Turtle Krawls

Fresh fish sandwich and conch fritters at Bo's fish wagon (this place you gotta see anyway..so you might as well eat there)

We get a sloppy jo at sloppy joes

Carolines great for a beer and the football games are usually playing.

Hog's breath great for beer.

Shirley and Norm here - the 2 ol' conchs - RoofTop Restaurant right accross from Mallory Square has great Key Lime Pies (almost as good as mine :D ) BO (Buddy Owens is an ol' classmate) he only has fish sandwiches, etc - never been there, but I understand its good - Buddy knows Norm and I good - mention Norman, the lettercarrier and Key West High School - 5 brothers on the corner of Southard and Grinnel has awesome conch food but you have to sit on a bench outside with the rest of the locals -
Jose's Cantina on White Street is also a great place for real conch food -
If I can help in any way, just give us a call at the shop.
Always
Shirley

I have to agree with Khakismum. The Key Lime at Cheesburger in Paradise if fantastic. It's the best I've had -- and I've had a bunch. I wasn't really fond of the pie at the blond girrafe. If I could have gotten the recipe from CIP, I would have !!! Enjoy your time there -- There is NOTHING like Key West -- I love it!!
