Key West Aquarium

We are going to do either the Conch Train Tour or Trolly Tour of Key West and then the aquarium. Other than that, this is my day for shopping and watching the sunset. I have NO interest in the shipwreck historeum which is part of the tour. Is there any reason I can't just book the trolley car and then buy my own ticket ($9a/4.50c according to the internet) at the aquarium door. This would save me about $25+ and also be more to what we wanted to do??
